As the most senior technical individual contributor, you'll work alongside engineering leaders, product owners, and control functions who bring deep domain expertise and high standards for rigor, with executive sponsorship and genuine autonomy to shape our technical future. Responsibilities and Impact: Define and execute technology vision and architecture strategy across S&P DJI's full technology stack, translating forward-looking technical insights into fundable engineering strategies Continuously evaluate and pilot emerging technologies beyond agentic AI, separating genuine capabilities from market hype to guide strategic technology investments Drive cross-functional collaboration with Product, Platform, Quality Engineering, and Architecture teams to extend forward-looking practices across the complete product development lifecycle Establish measurable outcomes and evaluation frameworks for new technical capabilities, partnering with Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit to ensure regulatory compliance in a benchmark environment Build technical capability across engineering teams through reusable patterns, standards, coaching, and hands-on partnership while influencing adoption through credibility rather than formal authority What We're Looking For: Basic Required Qualifications: 10+ years of hands-on senior software engineering experience with demonstrated track record of identifying and driving adoption of forward-leaning technologies before they become mainstream Deep, current expertise in emerging technical domains such as agentic AI systems, including LLM-based agents, orchestration frameworks, tool integration, and evaluation methodologies with proven production implementation experience Strong software and systems engineering foundations across architecture design, quality engineering, CI/CD pipelines, and platform development with ability to reason credibly across multiple technical domains Proven experience as a senior technical individual contributor setting technical direction, influencing architecture decisions, and driving organizational change through credibility and expertise rather than formal authority Executive-level communication skills with ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences including CTOs, risk committees, and senior engineering teams Clear technical judgment to evaluate where new technologies genuinely outperform existing solutions, assess acceptable risk levels, and provide candid recommendations Additional Preferred Qualifications: Experience in financial services, market data, index administration, or other regulated, high-accuracy domains with understanding of compliance and audit requirements Familiarity with data quality and validation at scale, including experience with AI risk frameworks, model risk management, or technology governance in regulated environments Track record spanning multiple major technology shifts throughout career, demonstrating adaptability and long-term technical vision beyond current emerging trends Active engagement in the broader engineering community through open-source contributions, technical publications, or recognized public technical presence Compensation/Benefits Information (This section applies only to US candidates) S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $220,000 to $325,000. The final base salary will be based on the individual’s geographic location, experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
