For more information about C&F, please visit our website: www.cfins.com Job Description Overview: ITFS requires a senior-level Application Developer to assist on a variety of efforts related to those applications supported by ITFS as well as the interfaces into and out of them. The workload for this position will likely be coordinated by a team lead, though the individual will be administratively reporting to management at some level. What you will do: Learn our applications to the level required for providing proper support and maintenance Receive business requirements and ensure proper understanding for appropriate coding Actively participate in appropriate Scrum, Kanban, or stand-up meetings Understand development standards and utilize them when planning/executing the coding tasks Provide appropriate input for solid project planning and the setting of target dates Manage time and workload properly to ensure meeting of deadlines Ensure review of design and code with team members prior to code promotion Work with technical architect to ensure documentation is created/updated as appropriate for assigned task(s) Ensure high levels of communication and transparency, demonstrating traceability and best practice Ensure close collaboration with the lead and Assistance Vice President of IT Financial Systems knowing what to communicate and when to escalate Work with experts to monitor performance of our production environment, and implement any necessary changes to improve it, including small fixes, and large architectural changes Assist in effectively managing all non-production environments Assist in ensuring our controls are adhered to (e.g. change controls) Continue to expand technical skill set, both in terms of ITFS needs and new technologies, utilizing both internal and external training tools. There may be a small amount of travel, on an as needed basis, to NJ What you will bring to C&F Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering. or related field and 2-6+ years of experience working as a Data Developer or Engineer Experience with SQL Server and related tools (SQL queries, SSIS, SSRS) Experience with source version control and related tools (Stash, GIT, Bitbucket, etc.) A basic foundation in data (e.g. integrity, governance, architecture, extraction, manipulation, storage, mining) Experience with job schedulers (SQL Server agent, Autosys, etc.) Familiarity with DevOps concepts, CI/CD, and related tools Ability to convert business requirements into technical specifications Understanding of financial concepts (accounts payable, general ledger, etc.) An understanding of basic SDLC and project management principles Familiarity with in Microsoft Office tools Experience with additional coding languages and tools (C#, VB, .NET, UIPath, Python, XML, JSON, Azure Technologies), is perferred but not required Strong analytical skills Ability to build and maintain solid working relationships Ability to be pro-active and self-directed with solid time management Excellent communication and collaboration skills – MUST be a team player Ability to collaborate with team members to ensure solutions are appropriate and fit for purpose Ability to work across teams (internal to ITFS, external IT teams, business units within Finance, cyber, audit, etc.) Ability to analyze system functionality and data flow to troubleshoot production issues Ability to research and analyze business/system/process issues for improvement potential Ability to handle constantly changing priorities Excited by new technologies, and a love of learning. Evidence of being self-motivated and driven An enthusiastic/positive/collaborative/helping/sharing/team focused attitude Desire to work on challenging problems with smart and collaborative people An understanding of working with vendor-based applications and APIs Be an advocate for best practice, success, and excellence Believe and adhere to the principles of traceability and best practice in an agile manner Ensure internal controls are adhered to and that evidence of adherence is available Understand concepts of performance monitoring, tuning, and improvement Ability to assess and prioritize feature requests based on both effort and value Ability to develop and execute unit testing based on tickets and acceptance criteria Desired, but not required skills: Knowledge of the insurance industry Experience with data warehouses and/or data marts Experience in additional DBMSs (Oracle, Snowflake, SYBASE, MongoDB, NOSQL, etc.) Experience in, or understanding of, additional BI tools (SSAS, Tableau, PowerBI, OneStream, Crystal Reports, Business Objects) Experience in, or understanding of, additional ETL tools (Informatica) Knowledge of Agile principles and Scrum and/or Kanban Familiarity with Jira and Confluence Experience working across multiple time zones Expe
