Speech Language Pathologist

Overview Department: Speech Pathology Employment Type: Per Diem / PRN Shifts Available: 8-Hour Shift  Hours: Variable Location: St. Mary's Medical Center- Blue Springs, MO We are seeking a compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our hospital-based team, providing acute care and inpatient rehabilitation services. The SLP will evaluate and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing (dysphagia) disorders in adult and/or pediatric patients. This role involves close collaboration with an interdisciplinary medical team, supporting patients with stroke, neurological conditions, TBI, head and neck cancer, and complex medical needs, with a strong focus on dysphagia management, bedside swallow evaluations, and instrumental assessments (MBS/FEES). Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including, but not limited to): Assess and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Provide therapy to improve articulation, fluency, voice disorders, and language comprehension. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other relevant professionals. Maintain detailed records of patient evaluation, treatment, and progress. Educate clients and family members about communication strategies. Stay updated on clinical research and advances in speech-language pathology. Qualifications Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:   Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's in Speech Therapy Licensed by the state in Speech-Language Pathology Current BLS for healthcare providers certification upon hire and maintain current Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:   MS degree in Speech-Language Pathology One year of experience with swallow assessment and treatment in an acute care hospital setting One year of experience in acute care  #LI-AM5 Employment Status Per Diem Shift Variable Equal Employment Opportunity Company is an equal employment opportunity employer.
