RN Med Surg, Part Time

Job Summary ED: The Registered Staff Nurse is a professional nurse who renders quality nursing care. Nursing care is based upon the assessed needs of the patient, is congruent with the prescribed therapy of the medical staff and is based on the Nursing Department's philosophy of nursing, and the Hospital's mission, vision and values. The Registered Staff Nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for all patients. The Registered Staff Nurse is accountable for the delivery of quality patient care, utilizing the nursing process for all patients from birth through their adult life cycle. Professional certification in applicable nursing field(s) preferred. Must be available to work day, evening and/or night shift as well as rotation on weekends as assigned. Must be able to rotate to units as assigned. Must be willing to work additional shifts as assigned. Must be available to stay overnight should need arise during patient transports off island. May be exposed to the following hazards: temperature fluctuations, moderate noise levels, minimal dust, infectious diseases and other chemicals as customarily used in a hospital setting. Exposure to various hazards in handling patient transports. Must be available to work overtime as needed to complete all job duties. NCMG: The RN is a licensed professional who supports medical providers in delivering of patient and family centered health care in an ambulatory care setting. The nurse reports to the Nurse Director and is responsible for working side by side with the providers, hospital leadership, and health care team to oversee the delivery of quality patient care through the daily operations of the office, which may include the supervision of the medical assistants (MA). Work hours will be determined by the Director of the practice and/or the Clinical Nurse Director and needs of the practice and will include some weekends. Overtime as necessary to complete assigned work. Must be available to work in the case of a declared Hospital emergency. May be required to attend meetings on or off the island. Perioperative: The Perioperative Nurse assesses the patient preoperatively; plans care during the surgical intervention, implements those nursing actions and evaluate the outcomes. This position is responsible for perioperative nursing, coverage of Central Sterile Supply on an as needed basis, and scheduled outpatient procedures requiring assistance by the physician. National certification in areas of expertise (CNOR, CEN, CCRN, etc.) preferred. Must be available to stay overnight should need arise during patient transports off island. Must be able to rotate to other units, as assigned. Must be willing to work additional shifts, as assigned. Must be available to work in the case of a declared Hospital emergency. Dialysis: Performs standard nursing practices as outlined by Dialysis Unit policies and procedures. Must be available to work day or evening shifts, as well as weekend rotations, as assigned. Must be available to stay overnight should need arise during patient transports off island. Must be able to rotate to other units, as assigned. Must be willing to work additional shifts, as assigned. Must be available to work in the case of a declared Hospital emergency. Must be tested on hire for color-blindness. Infusion: The Chemotherapy/IV therapy Nurse functions as an experienced clinical Registered Nurse in coordinating patient care and collaborating with other care providers and health team members to provide high-quality care of patients needing outpatient infusion therapy. This nurse acts as a patient guide and advocate by assisting patients and families to seek information, ensuring informed consent regarding treatment decisions and promoting the maximal level of patient-desired independence. This nurse is accountable for delivering care to the patient within the framework of the nursing process. This is a clinical position assuming department wide responsibility.
