Quality Control Intern

Job Summary We are seeking a Quality Control Intern to join our team for a hands-on internship experience. This program is designed to provide students with practical exposure to both field construction operations and materials testing/quality control, helping them build a strong foundation for a future career in the construction industry. Interns will gain invaluable real-world experience, work on challenging projects, and collaborate with seasoned professionals across project management, engineering, and lab operations. Key Responsibilities Field & Project Support Collaborate with project teams to assist in the planning, execution, and management of construction projects Spend time on construction sites to observe and participate in construction activities, gaining practical knowledge Assist in project documentation, including reports, plans, budgets, and schedules Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field staff to ensure project goals are met Participate in troubleshooting and finding solutions to construction-related challenges Quality Control & Lab Support Assist with a variety of lab tests on construction materials, including concrete and soil Help analyze and interpret test results to support accurate, compliant testing Support maintenance of lab equipment and supplies in accordance with best practices and standards Help identify and report quality control issues or concerns Communicate lab and field-related information to project stakeholders as needed General Acquire a deeper understanding of construction methods, materials, equipment, and safety procedures Other duties as assigned Qualifications Enrolled in a relevant degree program or technical school (Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Chemistry, Geology, or related field) Strong academic performance and a passion for the construction industry Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work in a team and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic construction environment Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude Basic understanding of construction principles, lab testing processes, or quality control practices is a plus but not mandatory Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace Must be legally eligible to work in the United States Duration Typically May–August Compensation Competitive compensation package Potential for academic credit, depending on your institution's policies Opportunity for future employment within the company based on performance Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
