Medical Assistant - Full-time Days

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 - Monday - Friday (8am - 4:30pm) Coordinates and provides care for a group of patients spanning all age groups and cultures for a designated time frame using therapeutic means, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation and other health care team members while assuming responsibility and accountability for these patients. Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience: Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development Able to assess and interpret data reflective of the client’s status Provides care outlined in standards, policies and procedures Specialized departmental training to provide care to patients within the role Successful completion of SMH orientation Command of verbal and written English Positive interpersonal communication skills Good organizational skills Operation of clinical equipment Demonstration of clinical competence Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience: Educational Requirements: Graduate of a two year accredited Medical Assistant program preferred License/Certification: Medical Assistant Age Specific Criteria: Ability to effectively communicate to all age levels served within the scope of the position/assigned areas.
