About this role Business Unit Overview:   BlackRock Capital Markets (BCM), a part of Blackrock Global Markets (BGM) is comprised of Liquid Origination & Corporate Solutions. The Liquid Origination team is a centralized, full spectrum platform for all BLK capital markets activities across the primary capital markets. BCM works with the entirety of BlackRock’s investments platform to drive access to liquidity & performance through high quality sourcing of investment opportunities spanning Sovereign, Credit & Equity capital markets. It is a holistic, comprehensive investment platform that provides solutions across the capital stack. BCM helps to deploy public capital in portfolios across the full BlackRock platform. BCM works closely with the Portfolio Management Group (PMG).   The Corporates Solutions function is the centralized function through which investment teams access the firm’s Corporate C-suite relationships. BCM is a part of the Markets Division within BlackRock Global Markets (BGM). Role Overview: BlackRock is seeking an Equity Capital Markets Associate in the US, to be based in New York.  The individual will have responsibility for becoming proficient in core business functions to manage our capital markets activity across public and private equity markets. There will be an opportunity to gain a broad skillset and exposure through deep understanding of the markets in which BCM operates; management of, and communications with, key internal stakeholders and external counterparties and corporate issuers; understanding of operational structures and processes with the support to develop efficiencies to such processes; integration into diverse investment processes across sectors and styles. Responsibilities: Daily management of capital markets processes in equities; including building pipeline, dissemination of new deal information and coordination with internal and external counterparties on live deals Aggregate feedback from different investment teams and engage with corporate issuers and Investment Banks to negotiate the best outcome for participating BLK funds Learn and manage a variety of compliance and business reporting systems and processes Track and prepare Weekly / Quarterly / Annual reporting metrics Fundamental company analysis to drive investment idea generation Assist the team in evaluating unique investment opportunities Drive development of company intelligence and support investment origination efforts Identify, create and own technology tools and processes to drive efficiency and increase impact of the business Qualifications: 2-4 years’ experience in financial services or technology, ideally with a background in M&A, Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Equity Capital Markets or Asset Management Skilled in financial modeling, fundamental analysis and valuation A passion for investing and financial markets Strong interest in technology and applied innovation Understanding of the financial services landscape Natural curiosity and a willingness to learn Ability to multi-task in a time sensitive, fast paced environment while managing a variety of tasks of varying duration Strong attention to detail Exceptional oral and written communication skills Self-starter who can work effectively with a team and within a larger organization Technology orientation (Strong MS Office skills required; experience developing and deploying AI-based tooling; experience with the following a plus: VBA, SQL, & Python) For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$116,000.00 - USD$155,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
