It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. Description of Work Reporting directly to the South Central Region Director, this position functions as Warden IV and is part of the management team. This position serves at the pleasure of agency leadership. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: - Managing the total operation of the prison facility including Administration, Custody, Food Service, Maintenance, and Programs. - Setting goals and priorities for each component within the facility and making modifications, as needed. - Developing and implementing long-range plans for the facility including future missions, programming, and operational needs. - Providing direct involvement with hiring, discipline, and training of employees. - Gather, evaluate, and report facility related data to support informed decision making and operational improvement. Required Adverse Weather Reporting: This position is designated as “Mandatory” and must report or stay over during adverse weather events. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Salary Grade Range: $70,627.00 - $137,724.00 The Agency has standardized Warden salaries. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum, medium, close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions. The division provides safety, security, and rehabilitative services through trained custody staff, program facilitators, and administrative personnel.
