Vice President, Full Stack Engineering - Corporate Services Technology

Job Description: Note: Fidelity will not provide immigration sponsorship for this position.  The Role Fidelity's Corporate Services Technology organization is adding a Vice President, Engineering in Durham. In this role, you will lead the technology portfolio supporting Fidelity's Legal, Risk, and Global Security divisions. As an engineering leader, you will own engineering strategy, delivery execution, operational health, and talent development for critical Corporate Services capabilities. You will partner with senior business leaders and enterprise technology teams to deliver modern, secure, scalable, and resilient solutions. This role requires strong engineering judgment, executive communication, delivery discipline, enterprise thinking, and the ability to build high-performing teams across software engineering, data engineering, systems analysis, and quality engineering. You'll lead with purpose, accountability, and empathy, setting a clear direction and ensuring teams understand how their work connects to the broader mission. You'll build strong partnerships across the organization, communicate priorities clearly, and create an environment where teams are motivated and accountable for results. You'll balance long-term strategy with execution, staying close enough to the work to guide critical decisions, remove obstacles, and continuously improve engineering outcomes. Define and lead the engineering strategy and roadmap for Corporate Services technology capabilities Own delivery outcomes across multiple teams, with a focus on quality, predictability, dependency management, and measurable business value Partner across business, product, architecture, cyber security, data, infrastructure, operations, and vendor teams to deliver integrated enterprise solutions Communicate strategy, progress, risks, and trade-offs clearly to executives, business partners, and technology teams Modernize critical platforms, including full stack applications, workflow solutions, APIs, integrations, vendor platforms, and data platforms Advance engineering excellence through secure engineering, automation, quality engineering, observability, resiliency, AI-enabled development practices, reuse, and production readiness Build and develop strong teams across software engineering, data engineering, systems analysis, quality engineering, and engineering leadership Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, continuous improvement, and results The Expertise We’re Looking For 15+ years of software engineering experience, including 8+ years in leadership roles leading multiple engineering teams, platforms, or product areas Strong understanding of modern full stack engineering, including cloud-ready application design, APIs, integration patterns, front-end and back-end engineering, automated testing, DevSecOps, and production support Experience with modern data platforms and data engineering practices, including data integration, data quality, data governance, analytics enablement, and scalable data delivery patterns. Understanding of AI and GenAI DevAssist tooling, including how to responsibly apply emerging capabilities to improve engineering productivity, quality, and developer experience Proven ability to translate business priorities into technical roadmaps, delivery plans, resource needs, and measurable outcomes Strong understanding of secure engineering, production stability, observability, incident response, resiliency, and platform lifecycle management Experience evaluating and integrating vendor solutions, including technical fit, operational readiness, security, service levels, and supportability Strong executive communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics and drive alignment with senior stakeholders Demonstrated success developing engineering leaders and building inclusive, high-performing teams Experience supporting Legal, Risk, Global Security, Compliance, Corporate Services, or regulated business domains is preferred Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience The Skills You Bring Enterprise thinking: connect business priorities, enterprise standards, architecture direction, and engineering execution Technical leadership: guide design decisions and raise the bar for full stack engineering, data platforms, and AI-enabled engineering practices Execution discipline: create clarity, manage dependencies, surface risks early, and deliver predictably Business partnership and communication: build trusted relationships and present strategy, progress, risks, and decisions with executive context Engineering excellence: champion secure, resilient, reusable, observable, and high-quality technology solutions Talent development: coach leaders and associates, identify skill gaps, and build strong engineering capability Operational ownership: care deeply about platform health, supportability, incident response, lifecycle management, and customer impact Change leadership: lead through ambiguity, simplify complexity, and help teams adopt better ways of working The Team Corporate Services Technology aids Fidelity's corporate functions in modernizing their technological platforms by bringing innovation, standardization, and scale in support of their goals with high-quality delivery, affordable cost, top talent, and exceptional leadership.
