Tech Lead, IT Core AI

Your job As the Tech Lead on Indeed’s IT Core AI team, you will serve as a senior technical advisor and escalation point for Google Workspace with Gemini, Slack, and Glean, helping ensure these platforms are secure, reliable, well-integrated, and continually improving. You will partner with teams across the organization to understand their needs, identify opportunities where AI, automation, or conventional configuration can create measurable value, and translate ambiguous problems into practical, supportable solutions. Your work will span the full lifecycle of enterprise AI and collaboration capabilities—from evaluating new features and understanding jobs to be done, through solution design, configuration, data and system integration, testing, release, production readiness, and ongoing support. You will build and maintain capabilities such as agents, skills, connectors, MCP servers, and workflows while managing the context, permissions, coverage, freshness, and retrieval quality needed to make those capabilities useful and trustworthy. Day to day, you will balance technical delivery with platform operations: monitoring health and adoption, investigating incidents, troubleshooting complex integration or data issues, addressing root causes, and automating repeatable work. You will use platform, support, and adoption data to prioritize improvements, establish sustainable governance and security practices, document solutions in runbooks, and share knowledge with Operational Leads and other contributors. Through technical expertise and influence, you will help the team adopt best practices and turn advances in AI and enterprise technology into reliable, measurable value for Indeed. Who you are Serve as a subject-matter expert and senior escalation point for supported enterprise applications and AI platforms. Configure, maintain, extend, and optimize application and AI capabilities, workflows, data structures, and integrations. Translate business needs and ambiguous problems into clear requirements, technical designs, and implementation plans. Lead application changes from evaluation and proof of concept through testing, release, production readiness, and support. Administer users, roles, permissions, service accounts, API credentials, and other access controls in accordance with security and least-privilege standards. Monitor application health, data quality, integrations, and operational processes; investigate incidents, address root causes, and automate repeatable work. Establish documentation and governance practices, advise teams on sustainable solutions, and mentor other administrators. Who we are Requires a minimum of 7 years of related experience; or a minimum of 5 years with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience. Significant direct experience administering enterprise applications, SaaS platforms, enterprise AI platforms, business systems, or comparable technology environments. Sound systems administration practices across configuration, testing, release management, logging, monitoring, incident response, change control, and documentation. Direct experience building or maintaining AI capabilities such as agents, skills, connectors, and workflows on enterprise AI platforms, with working knowledge of retrieval, grounding, and context quality. Experience integrating applications through APIs, webhooks, SDKs, data connections, or event-driven workflows, with working knowledge of RESTful APIs and scripting or programming concepts. Experience managing identity, access, roles, permissions, service accounts, least-privilege controls, and secure data operations in an enterprise environment. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex application, data, integration, and workflow issues; assess ambiguous problems; and deliver supportable solutions. Clear communication, sound technical judgment, and the ability to balance competing priorities while partnering effectively across teams.
