This entry-level role supports office and field staff and provides survey assistance under the leadership of a Senior Survey Coordinator.   In this role, you will support data processing, quality assurance, research, computations, drafting, and fieldwork while coordinating with your supervisor to meet client-specific demands. You will contribute to transportation, municipal, and bridge projects, delivering resilient, environmentally responsible infrastructure.   At a Glance   Location: Rock Island, IL   Discipline: Surveyor & SUE   Markets: Transportation; Municipal; Bridges   Ownership: 100% employee-owned (ESOP)   Travel: Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays   Work Schedule: Full-time hybrid   Sponsorship: Not available   What You'll Do   Process survey data using IMEG CAD standards, evaluate accuracy, and support compliance with applicable land survey project and professional standards under the direction of your supervisor and a licensed professional   Monitor field crew production and provide quality assurance   Research historical maps, land records, previous surveys, and land title reports   Provide survey computations, staking/control exhibits, and survey crew instructions for construction staking and field survey projects   Prepare cadastral, existing conditions and platting from field and office data using AutoCAD Civil software   Carry out initial QC of field deliverables according to standards and best practices   Coordinate with supervisor to ensure client-specific demands are being met   Act as a field technician as requested to complete survey field work   Maintain professional and productive working relationships with all clients and coworker   Observe safety and security procedures   What You'll Bring   Required   Education   Associate degree, or certificate, in Land Surveying or Engineering preferred   Experience   Prior experience in the land surveying, consulting or construction industry is preferred   Required Skills/Abilities   Work to gain knowledge of survey operations, principles, principles, and practices   Knowledge of engineering plans and construction documents   Knowledgeable of office workflow processes and problem-solving techniques   Strong computer and technical skills; AutoCAD or similar applications are a plus   Proficiency in technical math, geometry, and trigonometry is recommended   Possess basic oral and written communication skills   Ability to communicate with clients, coworkers and professionally represent IMEG   Valid driver’s license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier; must consent to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check   Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook   Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays   About the Team   Join a multi-office civil team active in transportation, municipal, and bridge work.   The team supports construction materials testing, CE&I, bridge inspection, and roadway design.   Current work includes municipal infrastructure in Bloomington, Moline, Peoria, and the Rock Island Arsenal.   The team also supports school-district surveys, layouts, and water-system projects.   Recent work includes Moline 16th St. Viaduct CE&I, Transportation; Peoria Cedar Street Bridge Repairs, Transportation; and Rock Island Arsenal Repairs & Survey, Government.   Why IMEG   We put people at the center of who we are, creating positive outcomes for people, communities, and our planet.   Employee ownership (ESOP), fully vested at all times , with a 3% to 6% company contribution, plus year-end profit sharing   IDEA Program: a firm-wide innovation accelerator where employees across every discipline develop and scale new tools, from VR and AI to carbon-reduction technology   PE, SE, and other license exam prep and support, with a clear path from EIT to PE   Dress for Your Day flexibility (wear what fits your day)   Generous time off, including 6 paid holidays and 3 additional floating holidays   Medical, dental, and vision coverage starting day one, with preventive care at 100%, a $50/month wellness credit, and a Calm subscription   MEG, our in-house AI platform, helps employees find information and build agents that streamline project workflows and calculations   State of Illinois Salary Range: $51,000-$84,000 per year   The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations, the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location.   Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications.   Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
