Surgical Technologist

Overview Copley Hospital, located in Morrisville/Stowe VT, is searching for a qualified Surgical Technologist to perform a wide variety of duties, assisting the circulator and surgeon in the care of the surgical patient. Maintains a safe and sterile environment for the patient at all times under the direction of qualified operating room personnel. There is an on-call component to this position. Compliance with all applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and policies governing the provision of health care. This is a Full-Time position (PT available).  Copley Hospital has a variety of shifts available across Full-Time, Part-Time, and Per Diem needs. An offer may vary based on factors such as experience, education, skills, internal equity, and market data. An offer of employment may be outside of the posted range based on those factors. Responsibilities Participates in “Time Out” before start of procedure. Passes instruments, suture, sponges, etc. Picks/prepares supplies for planned cases. Prepares sterile field/supplies/instruments. Participate in activities to keep abreast of technical and legal developments. Sets up instruments/equipment in a standardized format. Uses restraints and padding correctly. Anticipates needs of surgeon. Applies retraction, cuts sutures, etc. as requested. Clears sterile field in aseptic, safe manner. Ensures non-disposable instruments and supplies are not discarded. Completes accurate sponge/needle/instrument counts. Qualifications HS diploma. Successful completion of Surgical Technologist Program.
