AtkinsRéalis is looking for Reactor/Fueling Machine Stress Analysis Engineer(s) who specialize in Mechanical Design Analysis, providing technical and operational leadership, demonstrating superior client relationship skills, and a proven ability to deliver major assignments. The successful candidate(s) will be part of our team supporting the design of new nuclear power plants as well as the operation and refurbishment of existing CANDU nuclear power plants. Location – Buenos Aires, Argentina Your Role Within the Team. This position requires an individual who is self-motivated and capable of working independently and develop his/her career and experience in the nuclear field. The candidate shall be able to follow the instructions from a qualified professional engineer to complete the assigned mechanical related scopes or tasks and develop necessary engineering design documentation as required. The qualified individual will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Lead a team to complete the design analysis of CANDU reactor components, systems and structures including Mechanical equipment. Engineering calculations to support design nuclear pressure boundary components. Preparation of formal technical reports. Review of design documents, calculations, and analysis reports. Prepare engineering budgets and support proposal preparation. Execute engineering activities within budget and schedule. Provide accurate reporting of engineering work to technical and project managers. Provide prompt response and engineering resolutions on any critical engineering related matters. Perform engineering work following AtkinsRéalis/Candu Energy Quality Assurance programs, and applicable codes, standards, and regulation requirements. Coordinate and interface with client, suppliers, stakeholders and other design disciplines or department to execute assigned engineering work. Why choose AtkinsRéalis as an employer? The Ideal Candidate A Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) from a university of recognized standing. 1, 3, 5, or 10 years of relevant experience in the design and analysis of complex mechanical systems or equipment, aligning with Junior, Intermediate, and Senior-level positions, respectively. Experience with CANDU reactor systems is highly preferred, particularly in the areas of fuel channel, Calandria Vessel design and fueling machine design. A strong working knowledge of CANDU design principles will be considered a significant asset. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Ability to work independently and demonstrate problem-solving skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Experience in the interpretation of GD&T is preferred. Drive for continuous learning by own initiative. Experience in stress calculation for systems and mechanical components, as pipes, supports, pressure vessels and other complex mechanical mechanisms. Experience in finite element analysis using ANSYS (Workbench or APDL) /LS-DYNA/ABAQUS. Familiarity with ASME Section III pressure boundary design and CSA N285.0. Good time management skills.
