All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of disability or protected veteran status. **The last day to submit an application for this position is, October 7, 2026 by 11:59pm MST. ** Supervisor of Strategic Sourcing (TEMPORARY) The Supervisor of Strategic Sourcing leads sourcing and procurement activities for the university, with responsibility for specialized commodities, supplier relationships, spend management, and procurement strategy. This position serves as a liaison between deployed purchasing offices and the core management team, providing leadership, training, and guidance to ensure consistent practices and alignment with university and department objectives. Note: This is a temporary position ending July 31, 2027. What you’ll do in this position: Manage procurement of goods and services while building strong customer and supplier relationships Develop and execute sourcing strategies for specialized commodities Analyze university spend to identify cost savings, cost avoidance, consolidation, and strategic sourcing opportunities Manage supplier relationships and support vendor performance Provide leadership, training, and guidance to deployed purchasing offices Serve as liaison between deployed offices and the Strategic Sourcing management team Monitor key performance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement Support adoption and effective use of electronic procurement and procure-to-pay systems Promote sound fiscal practices and responsible stewardship of university resources What qualifies you for this role: Required A firm commitment to the mission of BYU. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management or a related field, plus two years of supply management experience; or six years of supply management experience without a bachelor’s degree Experience managing supplier and manufacturer relationships E-sourcing experience Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies, procurement processes, and price/cost methodologies Demonstrated negotiation and spend analysis skills Experience with vendor management and sourcing strategy development Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to influence business decisions while considering safety and risk Experience with e-procurement integration and performance measurement Preferred Contract management experience, including contract development and execution CPSM certification through the Institute for Supply Management Strong computer skills, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and change management skills Strategic and analytical thinking Strong relationship-building and customer service skills Ability to lead and influence across teams Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills Initiative and ability to work independently Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement Strong commitment to collaboration, teamwork, and responsible stewardship Pay Level: 53 Typical Starting Pay: $75,000 - $97,000 The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job-related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors. Candidates with very significant work-related experience may receive an offer higher than the posted typical range.
