Do you have what it takes to lead an innovative, forward thinking, intrinsically motivated engineering design team?  The Display Products department is searching for a Senior Engineering Manager to join our team.  We like to learn, have fun, and make a difference!  It comes easily when you work on cool products with hard-working individuals who share the same passion.  Our Displays engineering team leads the industry with cost competitive, innovative technology that sets ourselves apart from our competition and helps our customers make the most of their investment in our products.  We are looking for a strong, passionate leader with an action oriented, collaborative mindset, who operates with a vision, delivers benefits to meet/exceed expectations, builds and enhances his/her people, evaluates performance of self and others by results, plans for his/her people’s needs, anticipates project/organizational change, all while operating with Full Integrity.   Display Products is responsible for designing displays for both commercial and military avionics.  The successful candidate will lead and mentor the Display Technology group responsible for maturing display technologies for transition to product design and development as well as the Display Design group consisting of Mechanical and Optical Engineers responsible for product design and development.  Experience related to the design and development of avionics displays is desired; mechanical and/or optical design experience is strongly desired.  This person will also support customer business related activities including contributing to bids, proposals, and customer technical presentations. Therefore, technical project management experience is highly desirable.  Also essential for success is the ability to envision new products & technologies that align with customer needs to continue to capture business and grow market share. What You Will Do: Familiarity with AMLCDs used for avionics as well as emerging Display Technologies Technical leadership for a group of engineers to ensure program commitments are met Ensures consistency with Collins Consistent Engineering Processes Ensures compliance with Program / Product requirements as reflected in design plans Participates in the budgetary planning process through identification of staffing, facilities, capital, and support needs Responsible for management and performance of engineering personnel to meet required deliverables Leads wide range of entry-level to highly experienced Engineers and Technologists Demonstrates technical expertise in Displays and the associated technologies Supports the development and upkeep of Product and Technology roadmaps and participates in industry committees; champions roadmaps with internal stakeholders.
