We are looking for an innovative and data-driven Senior Engineer-Anode to join our battery R&D team. In this role, you will lead the development, optimization of stable and high-capacity metal anode formulations (including Lithium-metal and advanced composite metallic chemistries). You will play a pivotal role in engineering stable Solid Electrolyte Interphases (SEI), designing composite architectures, and translating bench-top chemistry into scalable cell designs. Job Responsibilities: ·        Design, synthesize, and optimize metal anode formulations, and composite architectures to suppress dendrite formation and manage stack pressure/volume expansion. ·        Test coin cells, single-layer pouch cells, and multi-layer pouch cells under strict dry-room/inert-glovebox conditions. ·        Evaluate Li plating and stripping behavior, cycle life, rate performance, and impedance across various operating conditions and N/P ratios. ·        Utilize analytical techniques—including SEM, XPS, XRD, EIS, and post-mortem tear-down analysis—to characterize interface, SEI degradation, and failure modes. ·        Collaborate with process engineers to transition promising lab formulations to scale production. ·        Establish quality control parameters, material specifications, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) guidelines for pilot-scale manufacturing. ·        Work closely with Electrolyte, Cathode, and Cell Design teams to optimize full-cell performance and safety metrics. Required Qualifications: ·       Doctorate degree on a battery topic ... OR Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., chemistry (electrical), materials science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and chemical engineering) AND 3+ years of experience in a relevant field ... OR Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., chemistry (electrical), materials science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and chemical engineering) AND 5+ years of experience in a relevant field... OR  equivalent experience. ·        3+ years of direct experience with metal anode systems (e.g., Li-metal/alloy, Na-metal/alloy, or Zn-metal/alloy), SEI design, surface treatments, or artificial interphase coatings. ·        Proven proficiency with alloy/composite synthesis in glovebox and advanced diagnostics/characterizations (EIS, GITT, CV, SEM, XPS, XRD, etc.). Preferred Qualifications ·        Experience or solid understanding of scalable thin-foil processing. ·        Familiarity with electrolyte development for Li metal anodes. ·        Research experience in Li-S battery chemistry. ·        Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), and JMP/databricks data analysis. Physical Requirements: ·        Be able to work in glovebox and dry room environment: ·        Be able to lift up to 40 pounds Compensations Range: The expected base salary range for this position is between $128,200.00 - $192,400.00 The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise. New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.
