Sr. Accountant

Sr. Accountant Reporting to the Performance Center Controller, this Sr. Accounting position will be responsible for preparing financial statements and supporting A/R and A/P transactions. This role has great potential to grow into the Assistant Controller / Controller role depending on performance. Who are we? Founded in 1849, Ducommun is the oldest company in California. Job Summary Manage monthly close process including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting and analysis, and review of control activities. Ensure all financial deadlines are met and deliverables meet expected quality. Assist A/R and A/P transactions as backup such as updating invoicing status for revenue recognition and coordinating with Treasury on banking transactions and cash information. Manage cost accounting activities including standard cost analysis and rollover, inventory count and reserve analysis, Capex and fixed assets activities recording. Assist with annual operating plan (AOP). Communicate and bridge between customers, vendors, and the shared service team. Ensure Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) internal controls are reviewed, updated, and followed. Assist with internal/external audits and respond to inquiries. Coordinate accounting matters with business partners as needed. Perform other assignments as required.
