Responsibilities As a Software Engineer, Journeyman, you will: Develop software for aircraft autopilots and associated avionics systems. Participate in ground and flight testing of the developed systems. Work with the latest, cutting edge technology Work with a team of driven, supportive and highly skilled professionals. A week in the life of a Software Engineer, Journeyman includes: Design, develop, document, test and debug software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions for aircraft autopilots and associated avionics. Confer with systems engineers, aerospace engineers, electrical engineers, developers and others to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Integrate hardware / software in our System Integration Lab (SIL) Participate in ground and flight testing of the developed autopilot and avionics systems. Develop software using C/C++ and the Qt framework. Develop avionics software in a hard real-time environment. Develop avionics software in accordance with DO-178C. Ensure software standards within our AS9100D quality management system are met. Qualifications The qualifications needed for this position include: BS Computer Engineering or Computer Science Required, MS Computer Engineering Preferred Minimum of 6 years of work experience with C/C++ and Qt. Minimum of 3 years of related work experience in the field of aircraft avionics Minimum of 1 year of work experience with a Real Time Operating System Active DoD Secret security Clearance Pay Transparency Statement AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $110,000.00/Yr. - USD $130,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
