Service Technician II

Purpose of Position: The primary role of this position is to provide high-quality repair and preventative maintenance services for all Ott brands equipment supported through the Service Center. This position may involve mentoring and guidance of the Service Technician I staff member(s). Essential Functions: Use established work instructions to provide repair, calibration, certification and preventative maintenance services for all Ott brands equipment within customer chosen deadlines. Determine the amount to bill for service within a framework of charges using computerized service systems. Maintain high quality of service by being detail oriented and by making proactive improvements in day-to-day functions. Provide input to new product design teams as assigned. Accurate inventory management. Working directly in ERP to manage, quote, bill, and track service orders Provide technical assistance as needed to customers, Marketing, Service Tech I, Operations, Inside Sales, R&D and technician advisors. Manage daily SQDIP functions. Additional Functions: Provide technical training on Ott and applications to internal and external customers. Domestic travel with potential for international travel as needed Other functions may include but are not limited to shipping and receiving service orders, managing inventory, assisting with rentals, participating in VES events to improve daily work and personal development, assisting advisors with customer communication, answering support questions. Other duties as assigned by manager Education, Background and Skill Requirements Two-year technical degree in electronics or equivalent working experience. Proven customer interaction skills Team oriented Good computer skills Mechanical aptitude Ability to work independently and prioritize work. Ability to work safely around electrical and mechanical hazards Willingness to work with products returned from industrial and wastewater sites (protective inoculations available). An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
