We’re seeking leaders who think beyond projects to improve the way we deliver them: individuals who elevate people, process, and performance across the firm.   OVERVIEW We’re looking for a Senior VDC Associate who combines advanced, hands-on Revit production experience with the ability to lead VDC projects and coordination efforts. You’ll be actively involved in modeling electrical systems in Revit, developing shop drawings, resolving clashes, and translating engineering designs into constructible models that support fabrication and field installation. At the Senior level, you’ll take greater ownership of projects, lead coordination efforts, work directly with contractors and project stakeholders, and provide guidance to junior VDC team members. This role is ideal for an experienced VDC professional who is ready to take on greater project leadership while remaining deeply involved in Revit production. RESPONSIBILITIES Actively model electrical systems in Autodesk Revit, including conduit, cable tray, electrical equipment, lighting, power, and supporting infrastructure Develop detailed shop drawings and field-ready models from engineering design drawings Remain hands-on in Revit production while taking ownership of model quality and project deliverables Lead VDC projects and coordination efforts, driving model development and coordination through project delivery Use Navisworks to identify clashes, develop solutions, and make the necessary model changes in Revit to resolve conflicts Lead coordination with contractors, design teams, clients, and other project stakeholders Identify constructability issues and RFIs and help drive them through resolution Mentor junior VDC team members and provide guidance on modeling practices, constructability, and project workflows QUALIFICATIONS 5+ years of professional VDC/BIM experience Advanced, hands-on MEP modeling experience in Autodesk Revit Experience supporting complex construction projects, with mission critical/data center experience strongly preferred Experience leading VDC projects or major project scopes from modeling through coordination Experience producing shop drawings and constructible models for fabrication and field installation Proficiency with Navisworks for clash detection and coordination PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Electrical VDC modeling experience, including conduit, cable tray, electrical equipment, lighting, and power systems Experience working directly for an electrical contractor 10+ years of VDC/BIM experience Experience across multiple large-scale data center projects Autodesk Revit certification COMPENSATION $100,000 - $130,000 + / year Negotiable, depending on location, experience, education, and skills SMC offers a competitive benefits package, with a 36-hour standard work week (1/2 day Fridays), paid time off, hybrid working arrangement, 13 paid holidays, 100% coverage of medical, health, and dental insurance premiums for our full-time employees, and reimbursement of professional licensing costs.
