Senior Team Leader – CREE Compressor Projects Team Would you like to be a part of successful team? Position Summary The Senior Team Leader is responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team of engineers delivering centrifugal and reciprocating compressor projects across the full project lifecycle, from order intake through design, execution, validation, and customer delivery. The role combines technical leadership, project execution excellence, people development, and strategic business alignment to ensure safe, high-quality, and on-time delivery of engineering solutions supporting Baker Hughes' energy and industrial customers. The position plays a critical role in driving operational excellence, engineering productivity, digital transformation, and innovation while building a high-performing engineering organization in Bangalore. Key Responsibilities Engineering & Project Execution Lead execution of compressor engineering projects, ensuring adherence to quality, schedule, cost, and customer requirements. Drive engineering deliverables across aero, mechanical, rotor dynamics, packaging, systems integration, and manufacturing interfaces. Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, customer specifications, and Baker Hughes engineering processes. Provide technical oversight for complex compressor applications, root cause analysis, and engineering problem resolution. Support risk assessment, technical reviews, design validation, and lessons learned implementation. Leadership & People Development Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers, technical specialists, and project leads. Build technical capability through mentoring, succession planning, and competency development. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Conduct performance reviews, talent assessments, and development planning. Promote psychological safety and employee engagement within the team. Operational Excellence Drive key performance indicators including: On-Time Delivery (OTD) Engineering Quality Productivity First-Pass Yield Cost Competitiveness Customer Satisfaction Lead Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives. Identify opportunities for process simplification, standardization, and automation. Support resource planning, capacity management, and workload balancing. Customer & Stakeholder Management Interface with global engineering centers, project management teams, manufacturing sites, and customer representatives. Support technical reviews and customer meetings for strategic projects. Effectively manage stakeholder expectations and communicate project status, risks, and mitigation plans. Build strong partnerships across functions to ensure successful project outcomes. Innovation & Digital Transformation Champion adoption of AI, digital engineering tools, simulation technologies, and automation initiatives. Drive use of digital workflows, engineering analytics, model-based engineering, and knowledge management practices. Encourage innovation and contribute to new technology development programs supporting next-generation compression solutions. Business & Strategic Contributions Support business growth by improving execution capability, engineering productivity, and customer responsiveness. Contribute to strategic initiatives in energy transition areas such as hydrogen compression, CCUS, LNG, and sustainable energy solutions. Participate in organizational transformation and operational excellence programs. Required Qualifications Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline. 12+ years of engineering experience with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or people management role. Strong experience in centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, turbomachinery, or rotating equipment. Proven track record leading engineering projects and multidisciplinary teams. Strong understanding of compressor design, manufacturing, testing, and field applications. Experience working in a global engineering environment.
