About The Role Lead Design Engineer - Design | Marmon Industrial Water Reporting to: Project Lead | Location: Bangalore, Full Time Qualification: B.E./B.Tech./M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering | Experience: 8-12 Years Position Overview This role is one of the senior members in the Design team for Marmon Industrial Water. The role is to execute the engineering activities such as detailed design, design calculations, Tolerance stack ups, manufacturing drawings, FEA simulations. The selected candidate will be responsible for quality of deliverables and for managing time and cost of all the projects executed. The role requires close collaboration with global business units, product management, simulation, validation, manufacturing, quality, procurement, suppliers, and customers. The Lead Engineer will drive innovative and cost-effective solutions through NPD-Product STD, design reviews, root-cause analysis, benchmarking, and continuous improvement. Mandatory Skills Mechanical Product Design (Water Treatment Equipment) ·        Experience in Mechanical product design at system or sub-system level in the Water treatment equipment industry ·        Ability to plan, co-ordinate and execute tasks (new development, product improvement, basics of cost estimating, BOM management, value engineering, analysis, etc.) ·        Expertise in SolidWorks software. Experience with SolidWorks PDM, Routing, and Simulation add-ins is an added advantage. Materials, Manufacturing Processes & Fabrication Exposure to Pressure Vessels, Tanks, Piping & Industrial Structures SolidWorks 3D Modelling, Weldment. BOM Management, Value Engineering (VAVE) New Product Development (NPD) Project Planning & Execution Global Engineering Collaboration Strong Communication & Problem-Solving Skills Desired Skills SolidWorks PDM, Pipe Routing. ·        Piping is an added advantage. GD&T & Tolerance Stack-Up Analysis Pumps & Valves Application Knowledge ·        Hands on experience in design calculations Mentoring & Technical Leadership International Travel / Cross-functional Collaboration Experience Continuous Improvement & Innovation Mindset Mandatory Domain Experience 8-12 years in Mechanical Product Design Water Treatment Equipment Industry Experience Exposure to Manufacturing Environment Key Responsibilities Design and develop new products, maintain present product designs thru Continuous Improvement, VAVE and conduct design-related testing and validation On-time project delivery while upholding utmost technical standards and quality standards for the deliveries within agreed budgets will be the key metrics of performance measurement Contributing to the business thru innovative ideas and through generating IP for the organization As part of the senior role in Engineering team, mentor trainee engineers and junior engineers on various technical skills Opportunities for Growth Lead end-to-end product and platform development for a broad Water Treatment product portfolio. Deepen expertise in product Knowledge, Product Standardization, manufacturing, Piping and subsystems integration. Gain global exposure through collaboration with business units, customers, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams. Build technical-leadership capability through mentoring, engineering governance, and ownership of complex technical decisions. Required Qualifications ·        Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related technical major ·        Excellent understanding of materials, processes and finishing operations. ·        Expertise in GD&T, Tolerance stack up, DFMEA and Concept Selection Metrics ·        Exposure to manufacturing environment ·        A deep understanding of huge fabrications, piping, industrial structures, pressure vessel, tanks, valves, pumps used in water treatment equipment is a must ·        Expertise in SolidWorks software. Experience with SolidWorks PDM, Routing, and Simulation add-ins is an added advantage. ·        Prior experience/exposure to working in a global engineering environment involving interactions & travel to other locations, including multi-continent reporting and engineering collaboration ·        Knowledge and experience of “technical writing” is an added advantage Following receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.
