The Strategic Defense Solution engineering organization in Binghamton, NY is looking for an exceptionally motivated engineer to design and develop electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on military/commercial aircraft and ground training Simulators. The design includes creating system wiring diagrams, I/O and Power Distribution panels, control panels and other items using Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools. Engineering duties will span the entire product lifecycle, from requirements capture and analysis, through design, testing, and production to ensure that designs meet requirements at minimum cost. Designs can include development of power distribution, electrical loads analysis, along with the support of testing and integration of systems on a training simulator. Sign-on Bonus Eligible What You Will Do: Responsible for providing guidance, coaching, and training to other team members. Ensure allocated and derived hardware engineering requirements are met. Oversee and participate Electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable assembly drawing, and Electrical Loads Analysis.  Collaborate with Procurement and Manufacturing groups to ensure product build per design. Integrate electrical components, cabling and wiring into design. Operate in a team environment with other functional areas providing input to design solutions and participate in design reviews. Identify, document, and communicate significant design and integration risks for timely review and resolution. Monitoring and reporting of training simulator design milestones and reporting status to project/program management. Be self-directed, able to meet cost, schedule, and performance objectives with minimal oversight. Qualifications You Must Have: The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience. Experience in electrical design tools i.e. (Visio, AutoCAD, Capital Harness, Catia). Qualifications We Prefer: Active DoD security clearance. Experience with aircraft, trainers and/or other technical system integration. Experience with design and development processes with practical experience in multiple phases of the HW lifecycle: requirements, design, development, integration, validation/verification, and sustainment. Experience with manufacturing teams, vendors, and other suppliers to build cost-effective solutions. Experience with Electrical Wiring Integration Systems (EWIS) standard.
