About you and this role Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior EH&S Technician. This role is located in Arab (AL). In this role you will shares responsibility for the implementation of the EH&S management system, in order to meet business objectives and to maintain the license to operate. You will provide hands-on environmental, industrial hygiene (IH), and health and safety (H&S) activities for a specific plant. You will require full proficiency in a range of technical, operational, or analytical/scientific processes and procedures through job-related training and considerable on the job experience to perform a variety of work assignments. You will act as an informal resource for team members with less experience. Responsibilities  Implements detailed, task level, day to day EH&S programs, utilizing the EH&S work process, standards and procedures. Ensures that the Environmental, IH, and Health and Safety aspects of operating discipline are adequate and applied to achieve EH&S performance goals. In most cases, would perform the role of section owner for the EH&S sections of operating discipline. Acts as the Plant resource for related EH&S information on procedures, guidelines and standards. Serves as plant contact for Environmental, IH, and Health and Safety issues. Coaches teams and individuals on EH&S related tasks and activities. Assists in developing and achieving area or plant EH&S goals. Ensures compliance tasks are completed. Performs/coordinates certain Environmental, and IH monitoring, data collection, analyzing and reporting for the Plant. Acts an H&S Focal point for assigned contract companies. Required Qualifications A minimum of a High School Diploma/GED Equivalent A minimum of 3 years of experience in health and safety required Willingness to be on-call as needed Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process Preferred Qualifications Associate degree or 3 years or more of military training/experience. Prior experience in manufacturing preferred. Prior experience with IH (industrial hygiene) preferred. Environment Health and Safety (EH&S): This is a core aspect of the role, as it involves leading EH&S compliance and implementation of safety management systems, managing permits, and optimizing EH&S programs. Regulatory Compliance: The job requires ensuring consistency and compliance with EH&S-related documents and submittals, as well as managing permits and compliance programs. Change Management: The role involves initiating and supporting management of change for EH&S programs and compliance matters. Conducting Investigations: Participating in incident investigations and the corrective action process for EH&S issues is a key responsibility. Communication: Effective communication is essential for coordinating, implementing, and optimizing EH&S programs, as well as coaching, training, and mentoring EH&S technicians.
