Senior Accountant/Financial Analyst

Job Type: Full time   Exempt/Non Exempt: Salary Job Description: Location Details: Remote Position Schedule / Shift: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm Position Summary: Prepares in-depth financial analyses and research to support and facilitate timely management decisions and/or financial reports or statements.   Analyzes and evaluates financial implications of business decisions or transactions on financial results.   Researches, evaluates and interprets financial data using advanced and emerging financial techniques and tools.  Develops and manipulates complex financial models for support and analysis of business initiatives.  Works with departments to ensure an understanding of financial consequences resulting from various actions. Provides support for internal and external auditors by preparing complex analytical schedules, responding to inquiries, researching issues and implementing recommended changes.  Develops, designs, tests and documents system changes or upgrades.  Represents finance on corporate teams and initiatives. Performs complex reinsurance accounting including, but not limited to, journal entries, analysis and reconciliation of complex general ledger accounts, activity and variances.  Prepares and balances the insurance company Annual Statement supplemental schedules filed with the regulators. Qualifications: Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics or related field Experience: Experience as a Financial Analyst/Accountant or similar position Preparing and developing financial reports Using automated accounting and/or management reporting systems Preparing, analyzing and interpreting in-depth analyses of financial and or statistical data Model development and manipulation using Microsoft Office products Overseeing and guiding assigned individual deliverables to successful completion Knowledge and Skills: Communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing Analyze complex financial data Demonstrate decision making and problem solving Derive actionable conclusions from analyzing data and information Participate on project teams Work independently multi-task Work irregular or extended hours as required Preferred Education: Certified Public Accountant and/or Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Tax Experience: Experience in using automated accounting systems Financial reporting (e.g. financial statement preparation, review and analysis) Preparing complex journal entries Preparing complex account analysis and general ledger reconciliations Insurance and/or reinsurance accounting or financial analysis Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or Insurance Statutory Accounting Principles Experience in statutory financial statement preparation Experience in economic regression analysis of variables that drive financial results/support project recommendations Experience in developing/implementing business simulation/models Experience in placement of reinsurance coverage for insurance companies Knowledge and Skills: Property/casualty insurance industry including insurance product and operations Automated accounting systems Analytic, numerical and statistical problem solving Interpret insurance and reinsurance contracts Work Environment: This position works from a home office location. Depending on the role, some employees may be required to come into the office, at a minimum, for important departmental meetings or team building events. Compensation Senior Corporate Auditor will earn a competitive salary of $67,371 - $90,000 annually with annual bonus potential based on performance.
