Research Fellow - Prevention Research Support Program

Full time, fixed term position for 24 months    Exciting opportunity to be a Research Fellow with Professor Dharmintra Pasupathy   Base Salary starting at $132,533 - $157,381+ 17% superannuation  About the opportunity The Faculty of Medicine and Health is seeking a Research Fellow to contribute to the Reproduction and Perinatal Centre (RPC), a research impact centre within the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney. The RPC is focused on improving pregnancy and neonatal outcomes through research in reproduction, obstetrics and maternal fetal medicine. This position is supported through the Prevention Research Support Program (PRSP) Grant Round 7: Maternity and the First 2000 days , led by CIA Professor Dharmintra Pasupathy. The NSW Prevention Research Support Program supports collaborative prevention and early intervention research that addresses NSW Health priorities and translates evidence into policy, practice and improved population health outcomes. The role will contribute to research focused on maternity and the first 2000 days, including projects related to preventive care, management of alcohol and substance use, and service interventions aimed at preventing the primary causes of low birth weight. The successful candidate will support the delivery of impactful health service research through stakeholder engagement, research coordination, data analysis, knowledge translation and research dissemination activities. The successful candidate will also be expected to lead and engage collaborative research across the partner institutions of the program. The successful candidate will be an emerging health service researcher with a higher degree focused on quantitative approaches to addressing key health service research needs. They will contribute to strengthening research partnerships, supporting grant activities, managing and delivering on research projects and translating evidence into improved health services and outcomes. Your key responsibilities will be to: provide advice on research direction, methodologies, study design and compliance requirements coordinate data management processes, including data analysis and reporting to generate meaningful research insights lead, provide academic input into and oversee the production of research reports, publications and other scholarly outputs streamline administrative processes supporting research documentation, publications and compliance requirements facilitate timely report submissions, maintain data integrity within University systems and support compliance initiatives coordinate stakeholder meetings, workshops and community engagement activities to support research translation and collaboration support the translation of research findings into policy, practice and service improvement initiatives maintain a research profile through scholarly outputs, presentations and engagement with academic, industry and professional networks provide mentoring and guidance to junior researchers and students where appropriate undertake other duties appropriate within the classification level as required. About you a Doctorate or PhD and academic qualifications in a relevant field an emerging health service researcher with demonstrated understanding of health service research methodologies an emerging health service researcher with experience and established interest in maternal and child health research a higher degree focused on quantitative approaches to addressing key health service research needs – e.g epidemiology and biostatistics proven experience conducting original research and engaging in scholarly activity a developing research profile within health service research or a related discipline a developing network of academic, industry, government and professional stakeholders experience contributing to research projects, grant applications, publications and research reporting strong quantitative research, data management and analytical skills demonstrable excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective and successful partnerships across diverse groups strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple research priorities and deliver outcomes within deadlines Sponsorship / work rights for Australia Work Rights: you must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to apply.
