Overview As a Recreational Therapist , you will assess, plan, and implement personalized treatment programs designed to achieve the best possible outcomes for each patient. Responsibilities Provides a wide variety of recreational programs and services to patients in order that social, physical and cognitive functioning will be maximized and desirable quality of leisure time will be attained. Qualifications Education/Experience: Graduate of an accredited college with emphasis on courses in recreation therapy or recreation. Some work experience required. Special Skills & Abilities : Should be able to drive a van for transport of disabled patients. Involves treatment of patients who may be physically disabled, mentally or emotionally disturbed. Demonstrates competency as appropriate to the ages of patients served, in the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs; a knowledge of growth and development; and an understanding of the range of treatment needed by these patients. Licensure Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist required. May require valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets insurance carrier requirements Pay Range USD $32.96 - USD $47.12 /Hr.
