Radiologist Physician Assistant

Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):   Assist radiologists with image-guided procedures, help set up sterile fields, positions patients, and provide hands-on support during procedures that use imaging guidance like ultrasound, CT, or X-ray  Review the patient’s medical history, answers questions, obtain consent when required, and ensure the patient understands what to expect before starting the procedure  Review imaging studies, identify obvious abnormalities, and discuss preliminary impressions with the supervising radiologist to support timely diagnosis and patient care  Order appropriate imaging studies as allowed by state regulations and facility policy  Monitor patients before, during, and after radiologic procedures  Enter detailed notes on procedures performed, patient responses, imaging results, and follow-up recommendations to maintain accurate and complete medical documentation  Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with certification.2. Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, ideally in radiology or interventional specialties.3. Prior experience with fluoroscopy or image-guided procedures.4. Current Physician Assistant license issued by the Texas Medical Board.5. Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).6. BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC) required upon hire and maintained.7. Must be credentialed and privileged by the HMC Medical Staff Office.8. Certified Radiology Practitioner Assistant (RPA) designation preferred but not required if experience aligns with scope.9.
