What we want The Program Coordinator I, P9 will support faculty and students with the day-to-day development, delivery, and evaluation of the Pre-Clerkship curriculum under supervision of the Academic Affairs, Assistant Dean of Pre-Clerkship and guided by the Pre-Clerkship Program Manager. The coordinator creates, coordinates, and disseminates information related to the assigned courses; updates and posts materials in the learning management system; updates the courses’ calendar and schedule, reserves rooms and/or creates Zoom sessions; and serves as a liaison between the course co-directors, faculty, students, and staff within Pre-Clerkship and across the College of Medicine. What you need to know Schedule: This position may require work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends. Travel: Occasional travel required. Responsibilities: Pre-Clerkship Coordination Coordinate all course information and scheduling for the assigned courses. This includes: Arranging room reservations/scheduling Zoom sessions Coordinating proctors and rooms/Zoom sessions for examinations Maintaining the learning management system Preparing for- and leading the course initiation meetings Serving as primary administrative liaison with faculty regarding course scheduling Coordinate with the Office of Academic Technology, Marketing, and Communication for support related to course sessions, exams, and trainings Curriculum Management Collaborate with coordinators and course leadership to coordinate and disseminate course materials required of curricular blocks, threads, clerkships and electives within COM’s undergraduate medical education program (UME) Administer curriculum in an e-learning environment utilizing a learning management system application as well as additional required software applications Manage the learning management system for the assigned courses Ensure grades are entered into LMS system accurately and disseminated to proper stakeholders Communication and Team Cooperation Attend meetings related to Pre-Clerkship Site specific coordinator meeting (required) All sites coordinator meeting (required) Pre-Clerkship Subcommittee meeting (as needed) Curriculum Committee meeting (as needed) Initiate investigation of student and Pre-Clerkship faculty concerns, identify problems, recommend solutions to Pre-Clerkship Program Manager and/or Pre-Clerkship Assistant Dean Work collaboratively and cooperatively with other Pre-Clerkship coordinators, faculty, and staff Converse with students to address course questions and/or concerns Disseminate mass communications regarding courses Accreditation Maintain and coordinate data required to comply with institutional program and accreditation requirements in a timely manner Assist the Office of Evaluation and Assessment in the mapping of curriculum content for assigned courses Assist the Office of Evaluation and Assessment in the tracking of faculty contact hours and compiling into the specified format Policies & Procedures Perform all tasks and job responsibilities safely without injury to self and others in compliance with A&M System and HSC guidelines. Maintain strict confidentiality with regards to exams, quizzes, and planning information prior to implementation Understand and possess knowledge of Undergraduate Medical Education policies and procedures, as well as the Medical Student Handbook Undertake special tasks and projects as assigned by Pre-Clerkship Program Manager and/or the Pre-Clerkship Assistant Dean Engage in two (2) professional activities/academic year Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Required Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience Two (2) years of work experience in program coordination in education or related areas Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree Four (4) years work experience in program coordination in education Experience in health services and/or pre-clerkship medical education Experience as clerical or administrative assistance staff Experience with learning management systems – Canvas Experience collaborating with individuals and communities in a higher education and/or medical setting Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to successfully manage several tasks simultaneously Ability to work cooperatively with others Ability to work independently Effective interpersonal skills Effective verbal and communication skills Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and database applications Strong organizational and customer service skills Why Texas A&M University?     We are a prestigious university with strong traditions, Core Values, and a community of caring and collaboration.  Amenities associated with a major university, such as sporting and cultural events, state-of-the-art recreation facilities, the Bush Library and Museum, and much more await you.  Experience all that a big city has to offer but with a reasonable cost-of-
