Division Overview: Crown’s Beverage Division manufactures a variety of packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees and teas as well as new energy drinks. Crown Beverage leads the packaging industry with innovative technologies that redefine how the world looks at beverage cans. Here is your chance to join the Crown Beverage Division. Location: Bradley, IL - This facility manufactures standard beverage cans for some of the top consumer product companies. Position Overview: The Production Planning Manager has the responsibility of coordinating all production planning activities for the manufacturing operations. This individual will be involved with the daily activities of production, inventory, warehousing and distribution for the finished products produced in the plant. Duties And Responsibilities: Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Production Planning Manager’s responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:    Assist in developing Master Schedule requirements from demand forecast, plant capacity, and historical data Interact with production and sales personnel to update and advise of progress and new developments Manage volume and manufacturing location changes as needed to meet customer requirements Monitor inventories of raw material, work in process, and finished goods in an effort to minimize costs and achieve plant inventory goals Oversee development and maintenance of tools that enhance production planning capability Conduct audits for compliance in department standards and practices Assure inside sales and plants utilize the ‘system’ through on site auditing and clear tracking metrics Maintain accurate “needs attention” inventory and implement measures for improvement. Drive continuous improvement through training and strategic planning Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, operations research, or related area 5+ years of experience in production planning, logistics or materials handling 3+ years in a manufacturing environment Approximately 10% travel Must be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional support Preferred Requirements Packaging industry experience Certificates in APICS, CPSM, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing Knowledge of AS400/iBMI Competencies Capability and flexibility of managing changing business needs and requirements Proven record of applied critical thinking in a variety of situations Taking calculated initiative to drive improvements Effective oral and written communications Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as working independently and self-directed Process oriented with a continuous improvement mindset Ability to develop processes, train end users, and implement projects to completion Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook required Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl  The associate may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus Working Conditions Generally works in an office setting but will be required to perform some job duties inside a plant environment While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic  The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures The noise level is frequently loud COMPENSATION Salary Range: $ 91,527 - $ 152,545 annually Annual bonus eligibility Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays *Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
