We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers. This position is responsible for managing syngas production activities safely and reliably, complying with regulatory requirements, managing costs effectively and developing personal skills and competencies of direct reports. The Production Manager supervises day-to-day operations, maintenance, efficiency and process troubleshooting, develops and implements MOCs, assists with environmental reporting and any other duties delegated by the plant manager. This role is a developmental position leading to plant management at this or another Air Liquide facility. The facility includes three Partial Oxidation (POX) Units, three Air Separation Units (ASUs) with backup systems, two amine CO2 recovery systems, one Membrane System, LIN Liquefier, polished water and steam/condensate system providing supply criticality and eight direct reports. Early Access : Your benefits start on the first day of employment Job Responsibilites: Operates Hydrogen/Syngas and ASU facilities safely and reliably by complying with regulatory requirements, developing/leading personnel, managing costs effectively and developing personal skills/competencies. Operates facility in compliance with all governmental regulations and Air Liquide policies Provides all regulatory training; maintains documentation for direct reports Provides technical qualification for new technicians and issues development plans and coaching when performance improvement is needed Reports and investigates all incidents; ensures Maximo work orders and corrective actions are completed in a timely manner Ensures all performance evaluations, hiring, promotions and assignments are free of any form of discrimination Meets or exceeds company safety standards including fundamental safety rules Implements and maintains Life Safety systems Ensures updated red-line PIDs at all times; displays detailed understanding of content and significance of each document Ensure accurate shift reports are sent out each shift Ensures shift turnovers  are completed effectively Ensures standard operating procedures are followed and updated as needed Ensures operating rounds are completed each shift and follow up actions/Maximo work orders are issued as required  Makes plant/process decisions in absence of plant manager, performs advanced process troubleshooting utilizing PI trending and spreadsheets as required Fosters positive internal and external customer relationships Ensures delivery of quality and quantity of product required by business Partners with Maintenance Center (MC) to execute predictive/preventive maintenance to eliminate failures, unplanned maintenance Partners with MC to execute planned maintenance turnarounds, unexpected events; ensures plant staff is engaged in support of TAR planning Sets and maintains high housekeeping standards to exemplify the Air Liquide image Displays thorough knowledge of possible hazards and associated safeguards Understands/applies elements of process safety; ensures all PSM requirements are met Ensures adherence to Management of Change procedure Supports and helps to develop long and short term planning for improving safety, reliability and efficiency Maintains adherence with IMS requirements including compliance with current GTs, keeping EIS plans/PMs current Supports on time completion of all action items from audits and other sources assigned to plant  Supports compliance to PM and PdM requirements Ensures maintenance work is planned, scheduled and completed effectively Models exemplary safety behavior; leads by example; works to achieve "zero accidents"; takes a leadership role in safety Conducts annual performance review with each direct report; implements development plans; provides training/coaching to improve performance Personally conducts annual lockout tagout training for each employee Provides candid constructive input to management decisions; actively supports those decisions Instills a culture of strict adherence to operational policies/procedures Completes goals as assigned in Talent Management System (TMS) and reports results as part of annual review Understands, monitors, optimizes and is accountable
