As a   Principal Network Architect , you will serve as the senior technical authority responsible for the strategy, architecture, and modernization of Voya's global network infrastructure. This highly visible role will lead the design and governance of hybrid cloud, multi-cloud, datacenter, security, and connectivity architectures across the enterprise. You will partner with executive leadership, engineering teams, cybersecurity, and infrastructure stakeholders to build scalable, resilient, and secure network solutions that support Voya's long-term technology strategy. Work Arrangement: This position follows Voya's flexible work model. Candidates may be considered for remote or hybrid work arrangements based on business needs and geographic location. The Contributions You'll Make Enterprise Architecture & Strategy Define and maintain enterprise network architecture standards, reference architectures, and governance frameworks. Develop long-term roadmaps supporting cloud adoption, datacenter modernization, Zero Trust initiatives, and network transformation. Serve as the senior architectural authority for network-related technologies and strategic investments. Translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and highly available technical solutions. Cloud & Connectivity Architecture Design and govern enterprise networking solutions across: Microsoft Azure Virtual Networks (VNets) ExpressRoute Virtual WAN (vWAN) VPN Gateways Private Endpoints Application Gateways Azure Load Balancers Cross-region connectivity Amazon Web Services (AWS) VPC design and segmentation Transit Gateway Direct Connect VPN connectivity Route 53 Application and Network Load Balancers Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Virtual Cloud Networks (VCNs) Dynamic Routing Gateways (DRGs) FastConnect Site-to-Site VPNs Hybrid-cloud connectivity Datacenter Architecture Design and evolve large-scale datacenter architectures supporting high availability and resiliency. Lead routing and switching strategy across enterprise environments. Architect spine-leaf fabrics and modern datacenter networking solutions. Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery readiness through resilient network design. SD-WAN, Security & Global Infrastructure Lead SD-WAN architecture and policy design across global locations. Design secure segmentation and Zero Trust network architectures. Partner with cybersecurity teams to align network solutions with enterprise security requirements. Architect and govern cloud interconnection solutions including Megaport. Technical Leadership Lead architecture reviews and provide governance across strategic initiatives. Serve as the highest-level escalation point for complex network architecture challenges. Mentor senior engineers and architects while promoting engineering excellence. Influence technology strategy and technical decision-making across the enterprise. Modernization & Automation Champion Infrastructure-as-Code and network automation initiatives. Drive adoption of Terraform, Ansible, Python, and related automation technologies. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend strategic adoption opportunities. Minimum Knowledge & Experience 15+ years of progressive experience in enterprise network engineering, infrastructure, and architecture. Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale enterprise network environments. Demonstrated success leading enterprise architecture initiatives in complex, highly regulated environments. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.  Mandatory Certification Requirement Active Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification is required and will be validated during the interview process. Accepted certifications include: CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure CCIE Data Center CCIE Routing & Switching (active status) Candidates must maintain an active CCIE certification. Expired, inactive, written-only, or equivalent certifications will not satisfy this requirement.
