This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position. Together, we are building a future where technology and education converge to create limitless possibilities.   As a senior technologist and member of the Enterprise Architecture (EA) team reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the Principal Enterprise Architect leads Oregon State University’s enterprise architecture practice by shaping strategy, advancing standards, and ensuring the alignment of technology investments with institutional priorities. This position serves as the most senior technical EA voice within EA, providing expert guidance across all domains while directly supervising Enterprise Architects. This role focuses on developing, documenting, and operationalizing enterprise IT standards, ensuring that technology solutions align with institutional priorities, architectural principles, and governance expectations. Working in close coordination with other enterprise architects and domain architects, this position partners with business and IT stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable, secure, and well-architected solutions. The Principal Enterprise Architect leads the development and stewardship of OSU’s EA program, working at the intersection of business strategy and technology execution. This role recommends enterprise architecture standards based on EA best practices, participates in the Enterprise Architecture Review Board (EARB), develops and manages the EA team’s goals and professional growth, and ensures the EA practice is designed to translate institutional strategy into a well-architected, efficient, and outcome-driven technology operating model.
