Plant Services Supervisor

Overview The primary duties and responsibilities of Plant Services Supervisor consist of, but not limited to: Supervision of 15-20 janitorial hourly employees Achieving safety and training goals Project management Work with and supervising vendors Special projects Overseeing janitorial services at the Groton, Kings Highway, B793, and New London sites Cleaning equipment Carpentry services Sign shop services Painting services Hazmat services Development and implementation of process improvements Utilization of VMI programs Performance of preparation and takedown of Christening Ceremonies, special events, road sweeper operations If needed, willing to participate in an alternative schedule during snow operations, snow removal and de-icing operations Working overtime as required to support organizational tasks Ability to interface with all levels of management and union leadership Qualifications Required: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent 5+ years of experience in industrial plant and/or facilities maintenance 1+ year of supervisory experience Working daily and weekend overtime to support Snow Removal Operations and special projects as needed and requested Preferred: Janitorial experience Snow removal experience Knowledge of backhoe and tractor operations Knowledge of SDS process Skills Strong communication-written and oral- skills Strong people skills Strong motivational skills Strong accountability skills Strong organizational & attention to detail skills Computer skills Strong Safety performance track record Physical Qualifications Climbing, Color Vision, Crawling, Heavy Lifting, Kneeling, Light Lifting, Medium Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Stooping, Twisting Environmental Attributes Acids or Alkalis, Cold, Dry, Dusty, Fumes, Hot, Inside, Noise, Oily, Outside, Wet
