Pipe Welding Instructor - Rhoads

Overview Focus Factory Training (D794) is currently looking for an organized, self-motivated Pipe Welding Instructor for onsite support for strategic sourcing initiatives at the Philadelphia, PA Focus Factories.  This position will report to the Chief of Training for Strategic Sourcing at the Rhoads site. The instructor will be part of a team, responsible for the training of supplier staff in various courses related to various pipe welding processes and wire types, as well as additional welding related courses.  Qualified candidates will have a strong commitment to Safety and Procedural Compliance, be a self-starter and possess strong verbal & written communication skills.  Candidates must also be driven by a desire to develop themselves and others, as well as possess the ability to multi-task with a friendly, approachable customer service demeanor. Responsibilities & Duties The responsibilities & duties include but are not limited to:  Instructing multiple welding related classroom courses including Workmanship, AWPSS and Safety Briefs Instructing multiple pipe related classroom courses Provide quality oversight of supplier embedded instructors to support site training needs Directing and assessing hands on training with practice and tests Enforcing safety rules and regulations in training and during deck plate audits Assessing student performance & identifying non-conformance to policies, procedures and technical documents Supporting various course content reviews and related activities Conducting assessments as needed/scheduled Manage class rosters and training OQE submittal paperwork Meeting with Focus Factory Leadership regarding student performance as needed Consistently grade tests and quizzes to ensure knowledge capture and understanding of training topics Communicate with other team members to advance work & communicate issues Supporting special training projects as required Support the Training department goals and objectives with other responsibilities as assigned Must complete and maintain NDT requirements for Welding Qualifications Ready to learn and take on additional responsibilities and duties as needed  Work Schedule The selected candidate will be assigned the following schedule: General first shift hours (7:00am – 3:30pm) with flexibility to adjust hours to support 2nd & 3rd shifts as needed with flexibility to support Ability to work additional overtime as directed (including weekends) Ability to support business travel approximately 20+% annually Qualifications Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent 4+ years of welding trade experience 2+ years of work experience at Electric Boat Instructing/teaching experience (formal or informal) Leadership experience (working leader, MDU, SS …ETC) Preferred Requirements Advanced educational course work including certifications, associates or other advanced education degree Proficient in 3 or more welding processes Experience with non-destructive testing, AWPSS & SRT Experience with various business systems, i.e. SRT/LMS, PQS, ATA Experience with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Excel, Word and OneNote Proficiency virtual and/or remote technologies Skills Successful candidates for the position will: Have business travel/EWA experience Have a strong ability to prioritize & complete multiple complex assignments Have a strong ability to direct in a classroom and workshop environment Have excellent written, verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills Have demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite Be comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic work environment Have a strong willingness to think critically and problem solve Have the ability to professionally engage with supplier staff Be comfortable with new teaching technologies and willing to adapt to new teaching approaches Physical Qualifications Color Vision, Kneeling, Medium Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Stooping, Twisting Environmental Attributes Cold, Dry, Dusty, Fumes, Hot, Inside, Noise, Outside, Wet
