Ortho On-Call is a growing Urgent Care and we are currently hiring a  Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.  This position will join our exceptional team of physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and sports medicine physicians and will ensure our teams continue to deliver quality care in a patient-focused setting.   Ortho On-Call's walk-in urgent care clinics are designed specifically to treat acute orthopedic-related injuries and conditions and are supported by the board-certified physicians and full-service therapies of OrthoVirginia. As we are open 361 days a year, weekend and evening shifts will be required.   Ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic tests  Fracture/Dislocation reductions/management, laceration repair, joint injections  Instructs patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plan and medications  Consults with physicians when warranted to assess patient condition and treatment plan  Ensures that medical charts and administrative paperwork are completed in a timely manner  Performs within guidelines of specific privileges approved by the governing body and delegated by the Medical Director  Provides support to medical and office staff  Knowledge, Skills & Abilities   Ability to assess situations, resolve within scope of ability, or escalate as appropriate  Ability to respond effectively to emergencies, actual events, or drills  Ability to follow instructions and make decisions with little supervision  Ability to maintain professional demeanor in all aspects of role  Travels between facilities when indicated  Strong customer service skills and excellent communication skills  Candidate must have experience in:   Sports injuries Sprains & strains Slips, trips, falls   Hand & wrist injuries Foot & ankle injuries Knee/shoulder injuries   Cuts & lacerations   Back & neck injuries   Broken bones   Sports physicals (NOVA & RIC)   Work-related injuries  Position Requirements   Board Certified/Eligible  Prefer 2+ years of orthopedic experience or practice in Emergency/Urgent Care clinical/hospital setting  Active/current state medical license and eligible for a VA Medical License  DEA License  Physical health to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position  This organization participates in E-Verify.
