About the Role The Patient Service Technician delivers, sets up, and picks up durable medical equipment, oxygen, infusion equipment, and medical supplies for homecare patients. You will educate patients on the basic use of their equipment, assist with equipment-related questions, and provide compassionate, professional service in patients’ homes. Key Highlights Hands-on delivery and patient-facing position Combination of driving, equipment setup, and customer service Independent daily route management Opportunity to help patients receiving care at home Emergency and on-call delivery responsibilities as needed Training through Apria Healthcare’s Driver Training Program Schedule First Shift: Approximately 8:30/9:00 AM–5:00/5:30 PM Second Shift: 3:30 PM–12:00 midnight Multiple shifts are available based on operational needs On-Call Expectations Must be available to participate in the evening on-call rotation On-call coverage is required approximately four weeks per year Must respond to emergency delivery requests during assigned on-call periods Travel Requirements Daily travel in a company vehicle to patient homes and other service locations Must safely drive during the day and at night in varying weather and traffic conditions Occasional travel by automobile or plane may be required Salary Range $19.60–$22.00 per hour Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, education, and location What You’ll Do Deliver, set up, and pick up medical equipment and supplies from patients’ homes Teach patients and caregivers the basic use of equipment Help patients troubleshoot basic equipment-use concerns Schedule and organize daily deliveries and pickups by geographic territory Load and unload durable medical equipment, infusion equipment, oxygen, and medical supplies Complete delivery logs, pickup and delivery forms, reimbursement documents, and vehicle maintenance records Follow applicable DOT, FDA, Joint Commission, hazardous-material, vehicle-inspection, and maintenance requirements Report unsafe or unsanitary conditions identified in patients’ homes Maintain daily vehicle inspection, maintenance, and incident reports Perform routine vehicle checks, including fuel, oil, fluids, tire pressure, and brakes Report vehicle or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor Clean equipment and assist with minor equipment repairs when needed Use hand tools, material-handling equipment, carrying devices, and appropriate personal protective equipment Respond to emergency deliveries and participate in on-call coverage as required Perform additional duties as assigned Required High school diploma or equivalent education or experience At least one year of related work experience Must be at least 21 years old at the time of hire Minimum of three years of driving history Valid driver’s license Successful completion of Apria Healthcare’s Driver Training Program Ability to meet applicable DOT, FDA, and Joint Commission requirements Basic computer and math skills Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle during the day and at night Ability to complete accurate delivery, patient-service, and vehicle documentation Ability to work in patient homes and adapt to different environmental conditions Physical Requirements Frequently lift equipment weighing between 10 and 160 pounds from varying heights Carry equipment distances of up to approximately 350 feet, including on stairs or in elevators Push or pull objects weighing between 20 and 60 pounds using carts or dollies Frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and squat Frequently climb stairs and step in and out of company vehicles Occasionally climb ladders up to 10 feet Safely work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures, lighting, weather, and traffic conditions Wear required personal protective equipment and follow precautions when handling oxygen, cryogenic fluids, cleaning agents, or other regulated materials Top Attributes for Success Compassion and empathy for patients Dependability and personal accountability Strong customer service and communication skills Organization and route-planning ability Sound judgment and problem-solving skills Attention to safety and regulatory requirements Mechanical aptitude Comfort working independently and entering patient homes Accurate documentation and basic computer proficiency Flexibility to respond to changing patient and delivery needs Why You’ll Love Working Here Make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives at home Help patients use essential medical equipment safely and confidently Perform independent work while remaining part of a healthcare support team Build valuable experience in healthcare delivery, equipment setup, and patient service Receive job-specific driver and safety training Work in a hands-on position with varied
