Job Details MRI | Beavercreek | Full-time | First Shift  Responsibilities & Requirements The MRI Tech operates magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images that support patient care and clinical decision-making. This role ensures patient safety, comfort, and compliance with all regulatory standards while collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver accurate and timely imaging services. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.   Required Education Associate's degree in radiologic technology or a related field; completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.  Required Work Experience Clinical experience obtained through completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.  Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R) and MRI (MR) Current Ohio Radiographer License per Ohio Revised Code 4773.03 Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained prior to patient contact) Skills  Proficient in operating MRI equipment and imaging software Strong knowledge of MRI safety protocols Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to explain procedures and address patient concerns Attention to detail for image quality and documentation Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems Essential Functions  Operates MRI scanners and related equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images according to physician orders and established protocols. Prepares and positions patients for MRI procedures, ensuring comfort, safety, and optimal imaging results. Screens patients and staff for contraindications to MRI, following established safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries.  Explains procedures to patients, answers questions, and addresses concerns to promote understanding and reduce anxiety. Monitors patients during imaging procedures and responds appropriately to clinical or safety concerns. Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely interpretation of images. Performs routine equipment checks, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards. Documents imaging procedures, patient information, and results accurately in the electronic health record, maintaining compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies. Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to infection control and safety guidelines. Participates in quality assurance and improvement activities to support departmental and organizational goals.
