Activities will include creating and maintaining documentation along with supporting production efforts for the Navico Group Power Solutions team. This position is based out of Menomonee Falls, WI. They will be tasked with testing in a lab environment, assisting the Engineering Team with prototype development, and new product design. At Brunswick, we have passion for our work and a distinct ability to deliver.  Essential Functions:   Execute product validation testing with detailed test reporting Communicate test data and issues with engineering team by utilizing the test request system Build prototypes according to engineering data, utilizing electrical and mechanical principles Design and fabricate test fixtures Provide technical assistance and resolution when product issues arise Troubleshoot equipment failures and implement proper repair solutions General shop and lab upkeep Plan, coordinate, and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously Contribute to decision-making that affects corporate strategy This internship will be a full-time commitment from May to August Internship Projects to include: Field failure diagnostics of a variety of electrical products. New product development testing Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way. Required Qualifications:   Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Basic machine shop experience (vertical mill, lathe, general shop tools) Must be able to quickly adapt to changing directives in a competitive environment Experience working in lab environment (environmental chamber, electrical, mechanical tests) is a plus Solidworks and/or Creo 3D modeling experience through coursework, design projects, or internships Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and accept feedback Strong verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the manufacturing industry Experience with the creation of work instructions Familiarity with marine and/or RV products in professional or recreational environment Experience with new product development cycles Shop/bench fabrication and/or assembly skills Working Conditions: Learning Opportunities: Our Student Program is designed to provide hands-on experience in a professional setting. This may range from supporting larger projects to handling smaller, individual assignments.   Hours: Interns are expected to work a full 40-hour work week Feedback and Performance Reviews: As an intern, you will receive feedback and performance reviews throughout your assignment. We value the importance for interns to understand their progress and areas for improvement.  The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $27.00 per hour.  The actual hourly rate offered will vary depending on multiple factors including year in school/credits earned, degree, job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.  At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
