Department: University Service Station Job Summary: Serves as an experienced mechanic and performs preventative maintenance as well as minor and major mechanical repairs on University vehicles and other mechanical equipment. Job Description: Services and maintains mechanical equipment and University vehicles. Repairs electrical systems such as alternators, starters, wiring problems, etc. Recommends the replacement of or the purchase of equipment, parts, and supplies. Job Responsibilities: Mounting & balancing tires Preventative maintenance including oil changes Full brake system repair Steering & suspension repair Engine performance & mechanical repair (gas & diesel) Drivetrain repair including some transmission repair or replacement Using diagnostic equipment: scan tools, test lights, multimeter, and other tools Hydraulic cylinder & hose repair A/C system service & repair Preferred Qualification: 3 years of related experience Substitution Statement: An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered for this role.
