Materials Process Engineer   Key Responsibilities  Develop chemical processes for battery active materials to meet application, product, and customer requirements.  Collaborate with engineers and technicians to operate production-scale tools.  Champion process improvements and partner with external vendors on custom equipment when off-the-shelf solutions don't exist.  Analyze material characterization data and apply Statistical Process Control to troubleshoot out-of-spec lots.  Build coin cells to quantify electrochemical performance of R&D materials.  Own preventive maintenance planning, spare parts strategy, and equipment health monitoring.  Follow all safety procedures and wear required protective equipment at all times.  Qualifications  Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., chemistry (electrical), materials science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and chemical engineering) AND 3+ years of experience in a relevant field OR Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., chemistry (electrical), materials science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and chemical engineering) AND 1+ year of experience in a relevant field Hands-on experience installing, testing, and troubleshooting industrial production equipment.  Preferred Qualifications  Familiarity with powder mixing, slurry, or coating processes.  Familiarity with electrochemical testing techniques to screen new materials.  Physical Requirements Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Be able to work in a lab standing up to 8 hours each day. Compensations Range: The expected base salary range for this position is between $106,000.00 - $159,000.00 The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise. New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.
