This role owns the success of both the product and the team behind it — balancing hands-on technical leadership with the day-to-day realities of managing, coaching, and growing a high-performing engineering team. You'll partner closely with Product to keep priorities aligned, drive quality practices across the team, and stay active in the codebase so you can lead by example, not just by title. Location:  This position is either hybrid out of our Denver, CO office or a fully remote position from within the Continental United States.  If the candidate selected lives  within  a 20-mile radius of our downtown Denver office, they will be classified as a hybrid employee and beginning September 8, 2026, working  one  day per week in office is expected. Beginning February 1, 2027,  two  days per week in the office will be expected.  If the candidate selected lives  outside  a 20-mile radius the Denver office, they will be classified as a fully remote employee and in-person onsite visits to the Denver headquarters will be required on average three times per year.   Compensation: The salary range for this position is between $153k - $170k, depending on level of experience.   Primary Responsibilities   Accountable for  the success   of the product and team   Enables measurable team improvements over time   Responsible for  establishing ,  managing  and  comple ting  company  projects and   milestones   Responsible for  hiring and  managing team members, supporting  career  growth  a nd evaluating per formance on a periodi c basis   Ensures that the product is supported  effectively  by the team   Accountable for  leading  product quality  practices  and outcomes   Leads team  to ensure complete,  succinct   and testable  acceptance  criteria   Partner with the Product Owner /Manager  to ensure alignment between Product and Engineering   Contribute  effectively  to the code base  across the full stack  and lead by  example   Coach others to  ensure high quality and efficient delivery of business  value   Align  career goals  of the team  with the company  goals   Evaluate the team to provide  direct guidance on performance and  potential   Provide  technical leadership  through   mentorship,  coaching  and  assistance   Lead  continuous improvement of Engineering  practices   Align team decisions with Enterprise Architecture  P rincipals and Department  goals   Stay on the leading edge of software engineering practices and  technologies   Build a collaborative, learning culture   Strives to drive a positive user  experience   Able to work through and  solve  complex  problems     Required Qualifications & Skills   5+ years of experience  as a full stack  Software E ngineer   3+ years of m anagerial experience   Experience designing robust and scalable  solutions   Experience with unit testing  and  integration testing   Experience  with modern cloud native development (Docker, Kubernetes,  Knative )   Experience leading  collaborative software   design  sessions   Experience  leading continuous improvement of Engineering  practices   Eagerness and willingness to learn new  technologies   Expertise  with version control systems   Expertise  with  distributed architecture and microservices   Experience in web-based application development   Strong  understanding of  SOLID principals ,  design patterns   Strong experience using database technologies and  patterns     Desired Characteristics   Acts as part of a  team   Self-motivated   Strong communicator   Collaborative   Drives change  and  improvement   Adaptable/Flexible   Physical Requirements/Special Demands   Must be available to work standard business hours, and occasional nights/weekends.     Travel may be necessary for team events   ** We are unabl
