Job Overview We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead engineering teams within the Advanced FMS organization. In this role, you will provide technical and people leadership, oversee multiple engineering projects, build strong engineering capabilities, and ensure successful delivery of complex avionics software programs. You will work closely with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to drive project execution, manage resources and priorities, strengthen engineering processes, and deliver high-quality solutions within schedule and cost commitments. Title:Engineering Manager – Advanced FMS Band: M4 Department: Advanced FMS Experience: 12+ Years Location: Bangalore / Hyderabad Education: BE / B.Tech / ME / M.Tech What You Will Do Lead and develop engineering teams, driving performance, engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement. Provide technical leadership across avionics software development, verification, and certification. Drive delivery through at least one complete avionics software product lifecycle and support multiple projects and teams simultaneously. Provide strong oversight of project execution, commitments, risks, schedules, and overall delivery health. Lead resource planning, staffing, capacity planning, and prioritization based on business and project needs. Ensure compliance with DO-178B/C certification processes, including DAL-B or higher. Drive configuration management and change control processes across engineering programs. Partner with senior leadership and stakeholders to develop and execute engineering strategies aligned with business objectives. Participate in project reviews, governance meetings, and key project cadence activities, providing management-level guidance. Identify and resolve organizational, resource, technical, and execution-related challenges across teams. Drive Communities of Practice (CoP), knowledge sharing, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Build robust technical competencies and implement standardized engineering processes and best practices. Support talent management, performance management, career development, coaching, mentoring, and employee engagement. Mentor engineering managers and team members in project planning, execution, and technical leadership. Provide leadership visibility into team performance, staffing, capabilities, risks, and organizational priorities. Generate engineering estimates for complex software designs and support project planning. Ensure engineering commitments are delivered within stringent quality, schedule, and cost expectations. Experience delivering at least one complete avionics software product lifecycle. Strong experience managing multiple engineering teams and projects simultaneously. Strong knowledge of DO-178B/C certification processes, with experience at DAL-B or higher. Strong understanding of configuration management and change control processes. Proven experience in project management, project execution, and stakeholder management. Strong people leadership, coaching, mentoring, and team development skills. Ability to manage priorities, resources, risks, schedules, and delivery commitments. Strong communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
