As we continue to scale our global platform, the Maintenance Technician will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and continuous operation of fulfillment center systems and material handling equipment in Aberdeen, MD. ROLE OVERVIEW The Maintenance Technician is critical to the smooth operation of the Fanatics Commerce Fulfillment Center located in Aberdeen, MD, responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on facility assets, material handling systems, and conveyor equipment. This role demands hands-on expertise across mechanical and electrical disciplines — including PLCs, VFDs, and motor controls — while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards and operational procedures. The Maintenance Technician delivers business and fan impact through BOLD leadership and execution excellence, leveraging data, automation, and AI-enabled insights. Team & Leadership Impact (Build Championship Teams) Communicate equipment issues clearly and proactively to both maintenance teammates and the broader operational team to minimize disruption and drive coordinated solutions. Collaborate cross-functionally with fulfillment operations staff to prioritize and sequence repair work in alignment with business-critical throughput goals. Partner with peers to share technical knowledge, support training, and reinforce a culture of safety and accountability across the maintenance function. Fan & Customer Impact (Obsessed with Fans) Maintain the reliability of conveyor and sortation systems that directly enable on-time order fulfillment and a seamless fan experience. Minimize equipment downtime through timely corrective repairs, reducing delays that could impact fan-facing delivery commitments. Execute preventive maintenance schedules that ensure fulfillment center assets operate at peak performance during high-volume fan demand periods. Uphold facility and grounds standards that support a safe, efficient environment for the teams powering the fan experience every day. Innovation & Problem Solving (Limitless Entrepreneurial Spirit) Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings — including blueprints and schematics — and precision diagnostic tools such as multi-meters and laptops. Troubleshoot complex motor control challenges on equipment equipped with PLCs, VFDs, Soft Starts, Servo Drives, and external I/O devices. Identify root causes of recurring equipment failures and recommend or implement solutions that drive long-term reliability improvements. Apply continuous improvement thinking to preventive maintenance routines, optimizing schedules and procedures to reduce reactive repair demand. Ownership & Execution (Determined & Relentless Mindset) Complete all work orders, preventive maintenance tasks, and corrective repairs with accuracy and in compliance with department and company standards. Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs on conveyors, building equipment, grounds, and powered industrial trucks (PIT) with a high standard of quality and safety. Work independently and exercise sound judgment in the absence of direct supervision, managing priorities to meet operational needs. Adhere to all safety requirements and operating procedures, including safe operation of ladders and aerial lifts, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required by the role. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems using technical drawings such as blueprints and electrical/mechanical schematics. Hands-on experience with motor controls, PLCs, VFDs, Soft Starts, Servo Drives, and external I/O devices. Fabrication skillset with the ability to perform repairs and modifications to equipment and structures as needed. Proficiency in Microsoft Office for work order documentation and computer-based reporting. Ability to work at heights using ladders and aerial lifts, and to perform duties in non-climate-controlled and exterior environments. Ability to work flexible hours, follow oral and written instructions, and operate effectively and independently with minimal supervision. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
