Logistics Coordinator

Job Responsibilities Dispatch carrier trucks, schedule and route drivers, cover back-hauls, and discuss delivery services with internal customers Responsible for ensuring the most efficient freight movement and cost-effective service by working with multiple business units to centralize third party trucking movements Ability to coordinate drivers locally and across the country with accuracy, respect, and excellent service Responsible to ensure compliance with DOT, Safety regulations and Responsible Care requirements Responsible to meet on-time performance requirements Resolve transportation problems with urgency and professionalism by working with a team and independently Maintain proper and up-to-date files on carriers Ability to quickly learn and train internal customers and external vendors on Transportation Management System Develop requests for proposals for truck shipments for various segments of the business. Analyze responses and manage the dispatch process once decision is made. Ability to quickly learn internal ERP systems.  Oracle experience a plus.
