Lead Medical Assistant- (Raleigh, NC)

The onsite Medical Assistant Lead is responsible for completing all of medical assistant duties with a high demonstrated competency in addition to managing patient flow on the floor. Additional duties such as reporting, inventory management and training of new staff may also be delegated to Lead MA. General Duties/Responsibilities Lead MA Responsibilities: Assists in training new medical assistants as assigned by supervisor Assists in completing weekly/monthly reports such as infection control logs, administrative reports, etc. Oversee the day-to-day clinic operations Manages patient flow including assisting with timely processing of all patients from checking in to checking out. Assists operations manager in managing supply inventory for medical and office supplies In absence of manager, be point of contact for team Participates in process improvement activities for the team and provide guidance on best practices Medical Assistant Duties Completes all basic patient intake with demonstrated competency. Completes all patient check in functions including eligibility verification, appointment scheduling, confirmation, arrival of member within the EMR system and checkout. Completes HEDIS and all other clinical alerts tasked to a medical assistant role per protocols including management of home monitoring systems if applicable Delivers on excellent customer service for every member including assisting with care coordination needs such referrals, enrollments in chronic disease management programs, etc. Facilitates member concerns, complaints or coordination needs regarding services at Alignment clinics, primary physician’s offices, any network provider or with health plan. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: Experience: • Required: 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant preferably in a physician office including working knowledge of managed care. • Preferred: Experience working with Medicare population preferred. Experience working with internal medicine offices Education: • Required: High School Diploma or GED.  Training: • Required: Medical Assistant from an accredited school of training required. • Preferred: LVN/LPN or other higher nursing certifications accepted as well. Specialized Skills: • Required: Ability to communicate positively, professionally and effectively with others; provide leadership, teach and collaborate with others. Effective written and oral communication skills; ability to establish and maintain a constructive relationship with diverse members, management, employees and vendors; Mathematical Skills:  Ability to perform mathematical calculations and calculate simple statistics correctly Reasoning Skills:  Ability to prioritize multiple tasks; advanced problem-solving; ability to use advanced reasoning to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and design, implement and manage appropriate resolution. Problem-Solving Skills:  Effective problem solving, organizational and time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Licensure: • Required: MA Certification or LVN/LPN Certification. CPR/First Aid Certification Other: • Preferred: Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.
