Our new Cardiovascular Interventional suite offers the complete integration of leading-edge imaging and technology to diagnose and treat patients with cardiovascular disease and other conditions using minimally invasive alternatives to surgical procedures. Our ‘Suite” team consists of expert Radiologists, Vascular Surgeons, Electrophysiologists, Interventional Cardiologists, Radiology technologists and Registered Nurses collaborating to provide innovative personalized care to our community. The Lead Cardiovascular IR Technologist provides non clinical operational oversight related to radiation safety, imaging systems, equipment management, and regulatory compliance. This role ensures the department meets all safety, accreditation, and state licensing requirements while supporting efficient operational workflows. Provides day to day clinical leadership for the radiologic technologists within the cardiovascular IR suite. Ensures clinical excellence, staff competency, safe patient care, and seamless procedural support while serving as a primary clinical resource for physicians and staff. Responsibilities Radiation Safety & Compliance Oversees all radiation quality control (QC) processes in collaboration with Physicist and leadership Manages radiation safety program documentation and compliance requirements. Maintains records necessary for: State licensure Regulatory audit Accreditation reviews Oversees dosimeter badge program, including: Distribution and tracking Compliance monitoring Review of exposure reports and follow up as indicated Performs or coordinates annual quality control (QC) inspection of CCIR lead apparel. Maintains CCIR lead inventory, including tracking condition, availability, and replacement needs. Equipment & Imaging Systems Oversight Oversees preventive maintenance (PM) scheduling and documentation for radiographic and medical imaging equipment. Maintains detailed records of: Equipment PMs Service reports Compliance documentation Serves as Philips X ray Equipment Super User, providing: Advanced system knowledge Support for troubleshooting Peer guidance on equipment optimization Image Management & PACS Oversees image archiving workflows and PACS management. Serves as the department liaison for PACS related issues, image quality concerns, and workflow optimization. Supplies & Operational Support Assists with Business manager with supplies ordering and management. Supports inventory organization, standardization, and utilization reviews as needed. Assists with department billing to ensure timely posting of CCIR procedures During billing review, audits and monitors procedural documentation for completeness and accuracy; tracks recurring documentation trends and identifies opportunities for improvement. Notifies leadership of documentation gaps or patterns indicating the need for staff reeducation and collaborates with leadership and educators to support corrective education initiatives. Collaboration & Operational Support Works closely with clinical leadership, biomedical engineering, IT, Physicist, and vendors to ensure: Equipment readiness Regulatory compliance Operational efficiency Staff Leadership & Oversight Provides direct clinical oversight of RT staff during cardiac catheterization, endovascular, and interventional procedures. Serves as the primary clinical resource for technologists at the procedure table, including supply selection, procedural flow, and troubleshooting. Acts as a mentor and resource for staff, promoting best clinical practices and adherence to departmental protocols. Onboarding, Education & Training Leads onboarding of new RT staff, ensuring completion of departmental orientation and competency validation. Oversees and coordinates all ongoing training and clinical competencies for RT staff. Collaborates closely with the department educator to: Ensure staff remain current on new technology, devices, and procedures Coordinate vendor led in services and refresher education Develop and implement education plans Recruitment & Workforce Development Assists leadership with recruitment, interviewing, and selection of Registered Technologists. Provides clinical input on candidate competency, skill level, and role readiness. Student & Learner Oversight Oversees RT students during shadowing experiences within the department. Ensures student activities remain observational and compliant with hospital policy, state regulations, and scope of practice guidelines. Serves as a liaison between educational programs and departmental leadership as needed. Collaboration & Professional Practice Works collaboratively with physicians, APPs, nurses, educators, and leadership to support high quality patient care. Promotes a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement in clinical practice. Performs other duties assigned by leadership based on the needs of the department. #ind-cs #li-csta Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required.  Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic, Cardiovascular, or Cardiopulmonary Technology program. Current cardiac catheterization experience of 1-2 years required or equivalent combination of relevant education or experience. NJ State License required.  ARRT Certification required.  RCIS or RCVT Certific
