Hillside Manor Rehabilitation and Extended Care Center, a 5 Star Rated Facility located in Jamaica Estates, Queens, New York, is seeking an experienced IT Help Desk/Assistant to join its dynamic team of professionals.
Provide in-person or over the phone technical assistance and support for issues related to end user job functionality including, but not limited to, equipment, software and hardware.
Oversee daily performance of computer systems throughout the network.
Respond timely to e-mail messages from those seeking help.
Ask questions to determine nature of problem.
Provide on-the-spot training to computer users when necessary.
Walk staff through problem-solving processes.
Install, modify, clean, and/or repair computer hardware and software as needed.
Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems.
Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems.
Install/troubleshoot computer peripherals for users.
Follow up with staff to ensure issue(s) have been resolved.
Log feedback from staff about computer usage issues and help desk experience.
Run reports to determine malfunctions that continue to occur.
Perform other duties, responsibilities, and projects as assigned.
2 year Degree including, but not limited to, an A+ Certification and Network+ Certification
Minimum of two years of hands-on IT/IS experience in a high-pace, multi-location organization.
Understanding of storage, servers and Lans/Wans
Strong communication skills, verbal, written, and analytical.
Ability to meticulously document, organize, and follow processes, fixes, solutions, and alternatives.
Preference for working in organizations that place priority on teamwork and collaboration.
Problem Solving – Identifies and resolves problems timely.
Acknowledges, greets and responds quickly to customer needs; responds to requests for service and assistance.
Remains professional at all times when dealing with negative situations.
Strong computer skills, along with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) and traditional office products, such as copiers, fax machines and office phones.
Strong aptitude for computer, data, and internet processing.
Ability to work under pressure, to meet deadlines, and to multi-task effectively.
Listens to end users and seeks clarification; responds professionally and positively to questions.
Contributes to building a positive team spirit.
Willing to travel 2-3 times per month to additional site within the organization.
