The Innovative Health organization connects teams across development to novel capabilities and solutions, unleashing the potential of innovation to drive broader access to innovative medicines, and enriching the healthcare experience for all. The IH team is seeking a highly motivated co-op to support both the Discovery and Delivery functions within Innovative Health. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of clinical research, innovation, strategy, and project execution. The co-op will work alongside Innovation Managers and Discovery Leads to help identify unmet business needs, evaluate emerging technologies and solutions, support innovation demonstration projects, and contribute to initiatives designed to improve patient, site, and trial experiences. The role offers exposure to the full innovation lifecycle, from identifying opportunities and scouting solutions to supporting pilot execution and evaluating outcomes. The IH department reports into Global Development’s (GD) Business Growth, Innovation and Advocacy (BGIA) department and is dedicated to driving innovation into the clinical operating model to make clinical development faster and better for patients, investigators, Johnson & Johnson, and the industry at large.  IH’s approach is to learn through doing:  we design and conduct innovation projects that generate knowledge about novel operational models, methods and solutions. Once proven valuable and feasible, we embed new operational approaches and technologies into Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicines R&D with the goals of improving patient and site experiences, expediting drug development, and reducing overall costs.  Our success comes by way of our entrepreneurial culture and teamwork. Principal Responsibilities:  Discovery Support The co-op will support the Discovery team by: Conducting research on emerging trends, technologies, and innovative approaches relevant to clinical development and patient experience. Supporting market landscaping, competitive intelligence, and solution scouting activities. Assisting with the identification and documentation of business challenges, opportunities, and unmet needs within clinical development. Collecting and analyzing information from interviews, workshops, surveys, and other sources to generate actionable insights. Supporting the development and maintenance of databases, trackers, and repositories of innovative solutions, vendors, and partners. Helping prepare presentations, reports, and summaries for leadership discussions and prioritization activities. Delivery Support The co-op will support the Delivery team by: Assisting with innovation demonstration projects designed to evaluate new technologies, operational approaches, and solutions. Supporting project planning activities, including timelines, milestone tracking, meeting coordination, and documentation. Participating in cross-functional project meetings and helping capture key decisions, actions, and outcomes. Supporting data collection, analysis, and reporting activities used to evaluate project effectiveness, feasibility, and impact. Assisting in the preparation of business cases, project updates, and communications materials. Helping identify risks, challenges, and opportunities for continuous improvement across demonstration projects. Cross-Functional Activities The co-op will: Collaborate with colleagues across clinical development, data science, digital technology, procurement, legal, finance, communications, and external partners. Develop an understanding of the clinical trial ecosystem and Innovation Health's role in advancing clinical research innovation. Contribute to special projects and strategic initiatives that support the broader Innovative Health mission. Present findings and recommendations to team members and stakeholders as appropriate.
