Information Security Engineer 1

Job Description: Position Overview The Information Security Engineer I role participates on a team of information security employees that own technical analysis, guidance, consulting, and configuration of information security tooling, operations, and projects. Information Security Engineers help resolve tactical and strategic initiatives related to the information security function. Responsibilities The Information Security Engineer I fulfills the following asks: Assist Information Security team members with risk analysis of identified issues or events Monitor the effectiveness of security practices Provide vulnerability remediation support May participate in communication with vendors regarding support of security products Liaise with and support security operations center (SOC) analysts with direction May be required to serve in on-call rotation Capable of assisting with proof-of-concepts or implementation of security tooling with direction Review, analyze (with direction) and/or respond to phishing submissions and alerts Perform other related activities and projects as required Participate in an entirely remote working environment (such as using webcam and participating verbally or with reactions) Experience and Experience Bachelor or Master Degree in computer-related or information security related field or 1-3 years equivalent work experience required. Information Security-related certification, education (classes), and/or project work preferred Knowledge and Skills Ability to understand and work in varied computing environments (like AWS Cloud and/or Microsoft Windows). Understanding of basic network and application terminology (such as OSI model) Basic knowledge of common vulnerabilities Demonstrates a commitment to AI fluency by embracing AI tools and technologies to enhance individual and team performance, decision-making, and innovation Basic knowledge of how databases work Basic problem-solving of computer related issues Understanding of basic DevOps practices and/or Agile methodologies preferred Basic understanding of Identity Access Management preferred Able to manage or interact with multiple assignments at once Basic coding and/or scripting capabilities in a language preferred Able to demonstrate solid written and verbal communication skills Work effectively with other employees in a fully remote environment Utilizes time management skills Able to effectively communicate Base Salary Range - $75.000 - $85,000 For over 175 years, Penn Mutual has empowered individuals, families and businesses on the journey to achieve their financial goals.
